Just an update: I watched this video years ago and got to know Sinn. I own a Sinn 556i and a Sinn 104 pilot for a few years now and they will be forever part of my collection. The 556 makes an excellent tool/field watch; I swap between the H-link and multiple other military type or nato straps. With the 104, I have the H-link version, but prefer to wear it with a good leather band...with its bidirectional steel bezel, arabic dial and syringe hands....it feels incredibly historic! (forget about the cheap 'ol ceramic bezels!) Truly like a German flieger pilot watch. Both of these watches you could get used with the H-link for approximately $1200. Comes with top-grade COSC equivalent movements. I highly recommend it.

Purchased the104 on a leather strap about 2 months ago and absolutely love it. I’m semi-retired so the day/date feature comes in very handy. Always get compliments when I where it. Thanks for the video!

I normally don't like the Omega 300, but I have to admit it looks good on your wrist.
@seanjoyce94755 жыл бұрын
Very nice looking watch. I tried this model on when I was purchasing the 556A model. It’s extremely comfortable to wear (the links are slightly curved)and the quality is excellent. If you look at the specifications on this watch you will be pleased what you are getting for the price. Sapphire with double AR coating,signed screw down crown,screwed on bezel,display back with 200mtr water resistance. I could go on.For the ‘bang per buck’ you’re not going to get much better. All this in a beautiful looking watch is a formula you can’t get anywhere else. This is my next purchase.

If the Sinn 104 had a ceramic bezel I would buy it. Love the H-link bracelet, the syringed hands, the day/date function and slightly domed sapphire crystal. I also wish the indices were applied instead of printed. Completely agree, the hollow, stamped metal clasp lock (not the two folding pieces) is cheap. I also worry about the long, pronounced crown digging into the back of my hand. Please, do a full Sinn 104 vs the Omega Seamaster Professional!

Shipmate I have the same feelings! Making me want to buy an Oris aquis or sixty five🤷♂️
@shipmate35776 жыл бұрын
Oris Aquis is way too chunky for my taste. 65 though is nice.
@generalpatton2726 жыл бұрын
I think Oris and Sinn are in tough competition with each other. I was torn between the 104 and the aquis, I went 104. White dial. My 3 pc collection SpeedMaster^ 104^, and then now I am waiting for the Pelagos to come out in a 40mmx12mm.

Very nice review. I've bought a Sinn 104i as well twice... first time I wasn't convinced and shipped it back... And then bought one used in mint condition so cheaper. Love it ! My cons : the bezel not perfectly aligned (on both, and very often on pic on the net) but nota big deal. The shift is very very very very little. My pros : same as yours. A modern and retro design.
@samyoo16785 жыл бұрын
I returned mine for the exact same reason. bezel is ever so slightly but noticeably turned clockwise..

I like butterfly clasps with push buttons embedded in but nothing beats Rolex Submariner, Daytona ,GMT Master II in this regard although Rolex never uses push buttons . I have decided to buy Sinn as well. Longines Hyrdoconquest also employs a similar design with the Sinn 104 and other Sinn models in this regard . If there's something I dislike about Longines is its clasp . It doesn't feel a high quality and lack of push buttons is definitely a let down to me . Rado Captain Cook 45 MM in titanium comes with a clasp that's better working than Longines and better feeling than that of the Oris too Thanks for your detailed video

I really like this watch, it's a pity that my wrist is only 6 inches, hope Sinn would make a 36mm version.

Great review, thanks for doing this. The Sinn looks amazing in your video. You've really captured the contrasts between the steel, the black dial and the White markings. You should have done a wrist shot though.

Subscribed👍🏻 I'm ready to pull the trigger on one and would be interested how you find it wears with casual dress?
@tobias_dahlberg6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy! That's awesome, will it be your first "semi"-luxury watch? I think it fits many types of ways to dress very well. It's a very subtle watch in its design as it's neither too vulgar nor too insignificant on the wrist so to speak. If you'd want to wear it with a suit I say go right ahead, it's a got a very clean, and modern design that I think works very well with suits if you want to stand out a little bit without being on the crazy side. It's definitely a great watch, and the inverted bezel is a cool conversation piece, I think you'll love it. To answer your question about casual dress: Yes, it works flawlessly, won't be a problem what so ever for most people. Let me know how it all works out, I'd love to hear, and have a great day! /Tobias

I got mine last week and it's a very nice watch. The only downside for me is the lume is too bright. It's got a hint of green in the daytime and I think I'd like it to be pure white like in pictures you seen on dealers websites.

Great review man. I love my Sinn U1. Ironically, I'm looking at buying either the Omega Seamaster Professional (same as yours) or the Sinn 104 w/bracelet. If I get promoted this summer, then it's the Omega. If not, then I'll buy the Sinn 104 as my cheer up watch. I just wish the Sinn 104 used applied indices... at this price ($1200-1600) I think it's appropriate. I also agree that Sinn's clasp is NOT good.

Very taken by this watch, particularly the white dial version. Would probably choose the fine link bracelet, as it looks like a really nice bracelet. Sinn seem to do an amazing job of regulating their movements, too. Often people seem to report COSC-like timings, -6/+4s per day.

just acquired a 104 I with a blue dial on a strap. Gorgeous watch. However, I did notice that the winding action is a little noisy...not nearly as smooth as my Tudor or even my Seiko Samurai. That said, I love the design and the finishing is top-notch.
@faisalingalong5 жыл бұрын
I’ve had the same experience. It’s a Sellita thing apparently but my 104 is so ridiculously accurate (+1spd) I don’t mind.
@tobias_dahlberg5 жыл бұрын
ETA movements are the same. It's a 'signature' thing almost haha. Is the winding feel noisy and sandy? It's most certainly a 2824, a derivative of it or a clone like the Sellita.

A solid tool watch for daily, looks familiar with my Seiko snzh55, sapphire crystal, 200m water resistant, +/-5sec VS hardex crystal, 100m water resistant, +/-10sec. Otherwise they may looks the same appearance in a distance.

While doing the research for this watch, I came across this excellent review. To be honest I don't see all the fuss, I would be replacing a Hamilton Khaki Pilot , and I'm thinking it's not 4 times the watch (based on price). Thanks for helping me make up my mind. I think I'll stay where I am till I can afford an IWC or something like that.
@tobias_dahlberg5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah in my opinion it's definitely not worth 4 times your Hamilton Khaki. Save up for that IWC and you'll be much happier :)
