Performa Wheels Review: Fitting AMG Aero Style Wheels on a W126

Watch as I give my review on the Performa 25 wheels. These are classic AMG style wheels that look great on the Mercedes W126 S Class.
I had these on my 420SEL, but they will look great on any S Class chassis including the 560SEL coupes and sedans.
All DIY repairs or modifications you perform to your car are made at your own risk. I assume no liability for anything you choose to do to your car, before, or after watching one of my videos.

Thank you so much for this video. I remember 4-5 years ago it was so hard to find information on these wheels before social media and gave up on doing H&R springs / Performa 25 wheels on my W126. Now that others are doing it and your information in this video... it shows we can make it work with no issues, THANK YOU!

I got a set for my SLK320 for about $780 from an outlet in NJ. I'll have them on in 2 days. I ordered Vogtland lowering springs too, I hope they look good 🙏

What do you think about the intra amg aero wheels? 18" 8j et35. Do you think it will be okay without adjustment or any kind of rubbing the fenders? Without spacers?

Hey Vik I could use your help. What spacers did you use for the rear? I purchased a set of 15mm spacers but the lip catches on the hub. Please help

You have had the wheels for almost 2 years now, how are they holding up - the finish? And did any of those fake plastic bolts/rivets break off? I;m thinking of getting these too - thanks.

I have the same wheels in 18". Had to run 12mm spacers in rear and 15mm front (on R129). Might swap them onto a C126 I'm in the process of purchasing

hey Andy, can you please tell me the specs of your wheels? Performa has 2 different sets. Do you have ET30 with 8.0 front and 9.0 rear? Which tire sizes? I'm just considering buying them.

This wheels fit the car but also the original barock wheels is good or the best looking for the car especially if you can get them newly forged in bigger sizes

I just pulled the trigger on these for my 83 300SD. Did you lower your w126? If so, what hardware did you use? You got that nice lean forward look.

Yes, lowered on H&R springs.

do you think putting 18s in the same size rim will be good or the 17 is the best way to go

With 18s your tire will be pretty skinny. The stocks wheels were 15”, stepping up to a 17 was already a big jump. You could do 18s, but I think 17s are the perfect blend of looks and comfort.

I know this video is old but what was the length of the rear lug bolts with the 15 mm spacers?

I believe I had 27mm in the front and 45mm in the rear. I did have to grind down the rears a bit since they were too long. For me it was easier to get a longer bolt and cut it vs having a too small a bolt that wouldn't engage enough threads.

Wheels are from Ebay, they actually shipped from a seller in Malaysia I believe. At the time I bought they were $999 shipped, they might be a little more expensive today.

For the rears I bought 45mm but they were a tad too long, I was able to cut them down using an angle grinder so they wouldn't catch on anything. I can't remember how much I trimmed, 33mm might be too short.
