Hey guys! I've very recently started sharing live broadcasts on Periscope, but each one expires after 24 hours and isn't available for viewing after that, so I decided to share this one here for you guys since I updated everyone on how Martin is doing currently, and also to invite you over to Periscope to join in the fun!

Note: Reading the comments while simultaneously talking and keeping my train of thought flowing is still very new to me (especially covering this particular topic), so please forgive the random tangents and broken sentences, etc:)
I didn't realize how long the scope was when it was going on, so I've broken it down a bit in case you want to cut to a certain spot! Hope that helps a bit:)

Emily, you and your husband are the definition of strength and love to me. I admire you both. I adore watching your videos and pictures. My grandpa was diagnosed with lung cancer - the doctors said that if he didn't come to the hospital that day, he would have died two days later. They said that he might have lived up to 6 months, however he lived for 2 years since the diagnosis. He was the dearest person to me and I prayed for him every night. He was a beautiful person and I miss him very much. So keep up optimism, love and pray! I'm sure miracles will happen, you deserve them!

You sharing bad/good helps people. It lets us see your not perfect and we're all going through our own struggles. This is your story, tell it. There are a lot of people who can relate to you and want to support you, including myself.

Hi Emily, I just wanted to say how in awe I am of your strength. I know in other videos you have said that you don't feel strong, or like you "have it together," but the fact that that tiny (but delightfully squishy!) baby is smiling so big tells me otherwise. If you weren't strong and capable and DOING IT, that picture would be different.. Please, please, allow yourself some of the kindness and grace you extend to others, and remember that strength does not mean always being happy, or ignoring the darker emotions, or somehow managing to not have them. Strength is what it takes to have those really, really happy days despite the very real, very sad circumstances in your life. Strength is what it takes to let light push in through the darkness and you have so much of that. Also, please don't feel like you owe the internet sunshine and roses... or details about your personal life. I don't think anyone has '"whiplash," and if there are people out there who don't get that life has ups AND downs, I hope they count their blessings for their very very charmed life. We are all blessed for your positive presence in our lives, and the lessons you're teaching others about what it means to have bad days AND good days, and how sometimes one day can be both. That is a lesson that took me a LONG time to learn, and I still struggle with it. Your family is in so many thoughts + prayers, and will continue to be. You are doing great. Hang in there, and know that you are strong, even in the moments where strength feels different than it used to.

My husband has stage 3 and were about to find out soon if it's stage 4 because something lit up for the fourth time on his pet scan. He has his CT scan Monday and we'll find out soon. Don't be so hard on yourself for your up and down posts. It's ok to be raw in emotion. I'll be praying for you guys.

And your family is amazing, so ..dealing with everything, having a blog and sharing moments with a large amount of people, also being optimistic makes you a model of woman. Thank you for this. Emily and Martin, my heart is aching for you guys. I went through this awful journey not too long ago. I would love to get you in touch with a friend of mine that survived stage 4 melanoma with the BRAF gene. Does Martin have the BRAF gene? Have you heard of Dr Keith Flaherty? Maybe a new perspective on things... Please let me know if you are interested and I will give you my number. Prayers are coming your way! Martin, stay strong, YOU CAN DO THIS!

All of my kids look very much like their dad-pale, blonde hair and blue eyes- Norweigan. People ask me if they are mine if the hubs isn't with me. I couldn't get a curly brown hair& eyes like me out of any of the 3. Since you are a writer, you could go to Upwork.com to write articles. I did virtual paralegal work and wrote articles for law firm websites. At first it may just be enough to fill your gas tank, but I know some people that have made it into a part time job. I am reaching a hand out virtually from eastern Montana for you to hold and loose it when needed. My brother in law had stage 4 colon cancer, I kind of know a little bit of what you are going through. I hope that you get to end your Friday in the tub with bubbles and candles:)
