A powerful vedanta teaching and Self Inquiry. What sees and what is seen? Do not believe in the reality of the seen. Do not be interested in the seen. Acknowledge and dwell on instead, the seeing itself. Contemplate, if the seer itself can be seen?

---------------------------
Thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, and perceptions are all objects of awareness.
What I just described to you is what we call “a person.”
There is no person HAVING thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, and perceptions. The person IS just a composite, a bundle of thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, and perceptions.
Just like a bouquet doesn’t HAVE a mix of flowers and leaves. A bouquet IS a bundle of flowers and leaves.
This is crucial to understand. Here’s why:
I just mentioned in the beginning of this email, that thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, and perceptions are all OBJECTS in awareness.
Therefore, what we call “the person,” and what you believe yourself to be, is always the OBJECT of observation.
But here’s the thing, we all go about our daily life under the ASSUMPTION that the person is the SUBJECT doing the observation.
We say “I AM the person.”
Even when you “become spiritual” and begin to believe and say “I am awareness,” you say this with an unconscious underlying assumption of being a person.
Your reference point for what you are is always personal. Awareness is taken to be mixed with the bundle of thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, and perceptions, and they are all felt as “me” and “mine.”
Naturally they begin to be felt as what I am, as my ultimate reality and truth.
And this the root of all suffering. This is the cause of all the dysfunction in your life and in the world.
Only if we were to create a certain distance between you and the thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensation, and perceptions, everything would change.
Not only will this bundle(person) stop being so dysfunctional, but we will all begin to wake up to our shared being, our shared awareness.
And this is what I wish to help you see more clearly and experience directly today.
I know today’s written message is longer than usual, and today’s video is also quite lengthy, but it is important that we take our time to dive deeply into this.
It is the only way to deconstruct and unravel the personal identity and create a distance between the seer and the seen.
Watch today’s very important video here. If you understand and practice what is mentioned, it will be the end of all mere reacting, incorrect identifications, unconscious suffering, overthinking, and dysfunctional doing.
It will be the beginning of a new life and deeper understanding.
I hope it helps you greatly.
Best wishes,
Sunny

Today's video is very important. It is crucial that you take the time to listen to it fully and reflect on it and be silent with it afterwards. Dwell on what is said today and marinate in its understanding. Lastly, if this conversation added value to you today, and if you wish to be part of a community in which you will learn how to master the principles of Acceptance and Self-inquiry without getting stuck in mental obstacles and endless thinking, learn more about my Higher Consciousness Shift program. In it, I work with you closely to help you dissolve mind Identification, discover your true nature, and liberate yourself from all unconscious behaviors, patterns, and emotional suffering. Yes I read this 4 months ago , and I read it today, and understood it really. So it did take me quite some time to understand this video. The mind does try to manipulate us to keep us identified, out of Fear of the Ego.. Being is never with Fear. Being is Silence Stillnes Peace, Aliveness. Thank you Sunny, for your relevant constant Repetition. Our Mind is so Resistent to the Truth.

Doesn't the actual freedom come from the realization that the seer and seen are one?
@selfinquiryschool

Yes, that is the second part of this teaching. One of the ways to that clear understanding is first separating the seer and the seen. Only when you begin to dwell as the objectless-seer, can you then begin to contemplate and understand how the seer and the seen could be one :)

This is an important video. It will be wise to bookmark/save this one. I have saved this one to my 'Spiritual' playlist. Watch this from beggining to end, it is worth spending 40 minutes watching this. Mind will say things like 'it's too long' or 'it's the same stuff all over again' but see that even that is SEEN. The nay sayer and the complainant and the sufferer is SEEN.

A truely powerful Teaching. One wants to open the eyes so wide in understanding just a little and then you want to shut them tight for some time in realising it's so deep. Hopefully the returns to it will be soon with Silence .and Stillness. Wish ourselves a wise listening with an empty mind.

Thanks Sunny, I got it, at last I got it and I feel wonderfully free of anxiety! Wait a minute, this too shall pass! So this wonderful feeling is an object/state of the mind, so who is observing even this state of mind? :-)

Wow! Very deep teaching! I have noticed that my reference point is to create tension in my body because of traumas. That's why I feel so much pain and I can't heal my back. I guess I will dissolve this pattern by becoming aware of it. I know the attitude is not to reject or get rid of the pain but at the same time I can't even practice to be aware when the physical pain is too strong...

So basically, the “Seer” is indifferent to everything, it has NO Preference one way or the other, it just “IS”. If you lose a child to sickness, it has no preference one way or the other, no suffering or sadness because suffering and sadness are part of the “Object”....the “Observed”. It also has no preference or identification with “Love” or “Bliss”, as that’s also just part of the Object with feelings and emotions. It’s almost like you have to throw away everything that makes you “HUMAN” in order to be “enlightened” of being aware.

Only one who understands this can feel both pleasure and pain, happiness and sadness, to its absolute fullness, without resisting or clinging. The only thing wrong with the human condition is clinging and resisting experience, and that is due to identification with it. And that is what is lost. All that is lost is you limiting yourself to mere experience. Realize it or not, anyway you are not that.

The subject matter of Vedanta is "Self". There are 4 maha vakyas (great statements) in Vedanta which says that Self (I) is Bramhan (god). Vedanta (which is also referred to as Upanishad) logically explains "how we are Bramhan". There are more than 108 Upanishads and each explains Bramhan from different angles. Bramhan is also the Seer. And in Vedanta god does not have a gender and is referred as it. It took me a while to understand the seer and the seen. Hope you will find the explanation useful. The Seer is not indifferent. Seer is that from which everything (objects) that makes us a human arises. It sees/feels/knows the objects but it is not the object so does not identify itself as the object. In Vedanta object means that which does not have an independent existence, which is not present all the time (past, present, and future), and anything seen by the physical and mind's eyes. Let's take a gold necklace. What is a necklace? A particular shape that is put around the neck and the name given to it is "necklace". In a gold necklace, gold is used to give the shape. The shape needs the gold to exist. However, the gold does not need the shape to exist. The gold and the necklace are two different things. The shape is not gold and gold is not the shape. Gold is Au with atomic number 79 but the shape is a shape. You can take the necklace out of the gold, but cannot take the gold out of the necklace. The gold does not change when it takes the form of a necklace. Before the necklace it was gold while being necklace it is gold and when the necklace is no more, it will remain. So now using this concept, replace gold with seer and necklace with sadness. The seer knows (experiences) that it has taken the shape of sadness, but the seer is not sadness. The seer has become (taken the shape of) sadness but is not sadness. Like a woman has become an aunt, but is still a woman. She has become a wife, but she is still a woman, she has become a mother, but still is a woman. So when we identify with the shape (thoughts) and flow with it, we are humans, but when we experience the shape and don't identify with it and just be, we are the seer.

Resting as awareness for hours gives me insomnia at night. Because resting as awareness increases alertness/ awakeness and you can’t sleep. I wonder how do people like sunny or mooji do it? I wonder if they themselves rest as awareness all day long.

Now I understood i think When there is witness we feel so myself and emotions are so stable but there is nothing to see everything is seen by that witness and we cannot neglect that witness it our nature But we suffer things appear as seen like our emotions but it’s nothing like feeling anxious My problem was not being able to stay as witness in daily life it was disappeared and i was feeling anxious all day the shift was not going to witness But I think we are only witness omg

The experience of you losing yourself and suffering is witnessed. There is not a moment of objective experience without the witness witnessing it. All that remains is letting go of identifying as an object in the witnessing. That is the "practice" before you..

Sunny thankyou for this very important talk. I have a question. Do we hold on to the real self while we are working? For example I am a software programmer and when I am writing code i lose presence and start going crazy when i am stuck with the smallest coding challenges. I remember my past and start cursing people who wronged me and regret my past ways. In short i suffer. Now if i do the 'who am i' routine here i recover but the feeling of presence cannot be held on for more than 10 seconds and i return to suffering when i resume thinking about the code. So my question is how do i hold on to the sense of who i really am while applying my mind to coding/programming/work challenges?
