Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross has been unseated as an MP as his party suffers catastrophic losses at the General Election.
The SNP bucked a nationwide trend with a win in Aberdeenshire North and Moray East, despite its vote share being decimated in the rest of Scotland.
His decision to stand in the constituency in the place of David Duguid led to his downfall, with the outgoing leader saying he would quit regardless of the result.
Duguid was barred from standing by party chiefs due to ill health but the former MP had said he was fit enough to stand.
