The ONLY thing bugging the NCAA about JH is his outspoken defense of player compensation. That hits the NCAA and the networks in the wallet. The NCAA is an unnecessary waste of time and money and they consistently prove it by selectively enforcing their stupid rules.

Harbaugh lied to the ncaa during their investigation last year so there is that. It’s laughable seeing people defend harbaugh as if he’s this innocent young person who knew nothing about anything.

When Harbaugh came to town, he saw UM couldn't get the talent OSU and the SEC get. So he had those camps. Saban whined the loudest. Everyone is going to side with the guy who wins. The NCAA put restraints on those camps. Then Harbaugh starts the Transfer Portal. Shea Patterson in 2018. That will negate the SEC advantage of over signing, grey shirt, and their junior college lay away plan (Cam Newton, etc). NCAA doesn't like that either. Where as if an SEC school whiffed on one of their 5* players, they had ways to get rid of them. Michigan was stuck 4 years if they whiffed. The Transfer Portal evened everything out. For all the cheating accusations, Michigan was never willing to play the Moneybag game. Bama, OSU, and others would. Harbaugh was a big proponent of NIL. Now Michigan is among the top spending teams with that. UM caught up to these teams because they were great in combining Transfer Portal and NIL. They're now getting players just as good as the teams that can hoard all the top high school talent.

100, florio exists to regurgitate his own stupid takes as news, and espn is helping him launder news for the sake of clicks. i've dropped pft years ago and it's not at all surprising that florio STILL sucks. BUT, turds that circle the drain together usually mix at the bottom so i guess it makes total sense.

Jim Harbaugh should be negotiating with the NCAA right now, not Michigan. Even if he is planning on leaving college football. He holds a lot of leverage at this moment. He is one the most famous coaches right now. If he wanted to hold a press conference and say what a lot of folks are saying about the NCAA, it could very well be the start of the end of that organization. Everyone would listen, many might disagree, but most (including all of those with media influence) would agree. It would become the topic of the offseason. Harbaugh should tell (negotiate, whatever) the NCAA to back off from Michigan and the coaching staff, implement helmet communication, and move on … or he blows the whistle on what has become a corrupt organization. That would be the last thing the NCAA wants.

Great stuff! According to Dan Wetzel article, Harbaugh is negotiating terms including some level of "not to be fired" immunity if sanctions come down including 3 member panel instead of the AD (like what executives get at Michigan). It does not seem that outrageous and the fall back position paying him anyways if the NCAA does not allow him to coach is exactly what he did for 6 games (though it was self imposed for the first 3 games and then imposed by the B1G). A "Show Cause" NCAA ruling will go to court if it comes to that with Michigan. Seems like the details that are NOT leveragble in any way v. the Chargers or any other NFL team. It is not about money or years, it is about terms that are NOT "apples to apples" with the NFL. Seems very strange that they would even try this if he were on his way out. Also, the logic that this lawyer did this to give Harbaugh himself peace of mind to leave does not make logical sense. If he wants to leave, almost all Michigan fans would wish him well. Far more logical that these details are being worked out, because he is going to compare the best he can get from Michigan v. the best he can get from the NFL. Michigan appears to be very much in play.

@@taxisquad11 There is no "last time" yet... The case has not be heard by the NCAA yet. Michigan backed down to the BIG (not NCAA) because one of their coaches told players to not talk to the NCAA, not directly related to the original infraction, but too messy to figure out just before a game.

Why does any school listen to or answer any inquiries by the NCAA. It would only take one States Attorney General to say no you don’t have any binding authority and are causing undue financial harm to the state. It would be by by NCAA.

The Chargers have a quarterback…but its ownership situation is awful. The sibling are fighting for control of the team and the team has few fans in LA. Watching a Chargers home game on TV it seems like an away game since so many opposing jerseys are in the stands.

Jim Harbaugh played for the Chargers. He knows the ownership there already. Dean Spanos controls 51% of the team. The siblings can fight all they want but in reality Dean controls the team. Winning will fix the lack of fans and Dean knows that. I saw it happen with the Chargers in the early 2000s. As soon as the team started winning with Brees, Rivers, Gates, Tomlinson the game attendance went from opposing fans to all home fans.

@@robertmartinjr.4537 It isn't about money. Michigan is trying to get him to sign a contract that isn't guaranteed if he is suspended or punished by the NCAA and he can't leave for the NFL. If he signs that he could be out of work with no pay. Nobody in their right mind would sign that contract. He has been trying to re-enter the NFL for the past few seasons too. If he gets the right offer from an NFL team, not necessarily more money, he will likely leave. That is unless Michigan gives him a fully guaranteed contract with a clause that lets him leave early for the NFL if he chooses.

Two most popular football teams in LA are the USC Trojans and my Raiders!! I live two miles from the Chargers new training facility and get sick of seeing that stupid "bolt" everyday. They belong in San Diego where they actually have a fan base. Rams won a Superbowl and as many fans showed up for their parade as El Segundo's Little League World Series championship parade... and the Rams are much more popular than the Chargers. Goodell got it wrong. He's an idiot.

if he wanted the Chargers job last year, why wouldnt he want it this year? He got his opportunity to win the National Championship and go undefeated because the Chargers stuck with their guns and gave Staley a chance. Staley lost really close games and just needed something to get over the hump. Harbaugh should still want this job after completing his college goals.
