As a 6th year student of pharmacy currently on rotations I really need to know my stuff. I am constantly asked questions by EVERYONE so naturally I have to review information all the time. Prof. Fink is awesome for this since he explains things very well and they stick so I don't have to review anything else after watching his videos. Thank you sir!

"Fake it until you make it" - I love it. I am a nursing student who will soon graduate and will be working as a registered nurse. Very anxiety producing and I'm afraid I am not going to have any idea what I am doing. I know that is no where near true because I wouldn't have made it this far but its my nerves talking. Thank you for that boost of confidence that will continue to stay with me.

Why he keeps referring to Diazapam .. as VALIUM, or "VALIUM TYPE DRUGS" is blatantly obvious. I wonder how much ROCHE paid him!?? Referring to his statement regarding being given DIAZEPAM (Valium, Valpam, Kalma..just to name a few of the most common BRANDED 'generiv versions' of DIAZEPAM).. for withdrawing off alcohol or cocaine and mentioning the Betty Ford clinic, yet FAILING to say (for a short term period ONLY) .. or you're just replacing one addiction with another, is DANGEROUS!! DIAZEPAM is ridiculously addictive!! 🙇 ,

Expect to experience these symptoms during a c/t or tapering benzo withdrawal, because the drugs are so safe: Here's pretty much what I had to endure the entire time... Fear beyond belief Paranoia Insomnia Gastrointestinal issues Memory issues Intrusive thoughts Tinnitus Muscle tics and spasms Intrusive memories Deep depression Mental anguish Negative thoughts Intense anxiety Muscle tension Doom and gloom Suicidal ideation Dizziness Physical pain Myoclonic jerks Vivid dreams Toxic naps and the worst horror of all - Akathisia - the uncontrollable feeling of needing to constantly physically move... the need to pace for miles and miles, for hours and hours all day, every day... and also the internal and mental feeling of it too, except one can't physically move one's insides, so one tries to rip one's skin off, and/or pull one's hair out, instead ... and all consistently, throughout.' I too experienced ALL of these during my Klonopin withdrawal but the good Professor Fink didn't mention any of this did he?? Keep lying to the public that psychiatric drugs are safe when they're ALL extremely addicting and you many never be able to get off them, or you can kill yourself as thousands do to end their mental torture.

@@tifeadekoya78 - most people believe their Dr's that they need the drugs being prescribed. And once we've become iatrogenically harmed by our other prescribed medications from being poly-drugged, we do need them regardless of the fact that they may indeed kill us. This is what is referred to as 'modern medicine'. Our only problem was trusting Doctors and psychiatrists who don't deserve our trust, respect or loyalty.

@@smilemor-phony5964 firstly Proffessor Fink is a teacher and his videos are directed mainly to medical students. Secondly i would use this example to explain my view on you trusting a Dr.or not. The mechaninsm of action of the cytotoxic T helper cells in the body is by killing the body's own cell infected with an antigen. In cancer, the body own cells begin to divide abnormally on its own mostly without any justifiable cause. Talk less of gene mutations causing various diseases, we could decide to throw a fist at the body for not doing its job well nah. The dr is not God that created this things and in His own best way is trying to profer a solution to whatever already happened to the body. Try to study about the eyes alone both pharmacologically and pathologically and see the extent to what they try to do. I know they go through a lot more than what is seen and a degredation from whosoever is not in any way called for. I think we really should loose trust in the doctors and do our things our selves. When u have any health related issue brother treat urself, without anything linking to a dr.'s impute. Because they are not to be trusted but you are.

@@tifeadekoya78 - well thank God Mr. Fink isn't a Doctor. There's already an epidemic of totally uneducated Doctors within our Medical/Psychiatric field. I still feel sorry for his students for his lack of knowledge. It will be a cold day in hell when they begin informing students about the true dangers of benzodiazepines. With 50 million prescriptions for benzos last year, it sounds to me like they're prescribing it off-label for anything under the sun. I will never, ever trust another doctor after watching them iatrogenically harm, (myself included) and murder tens of thousands of patients by prescribing their neurotoxic poisons. Best of luck to you on your studies. You sound like a bright women.

Professor Fink, How come Benzodiazepines don't cause respiratory depression? Aren't they supposed to theoretically?
@je6874
@je6874 7 жыл бұрын
James Pain they allosterically bind to the GABA receptor and increase the frequency (likelihood) of Cl- entering the channel. Barbiturates are the ones that can cause respiratory depression since they bind to the GABA receptor to directly increase Cl- entry. As with any drug though, benzos at higher doses can cause respiratory depression.

These SSRI agents are only very minimally helpful. The best medications for depressive and anxiety disorders are the MAOI's- Nardil and Parnate. Extremely effective. And, contrary to popular belief, they are also very safe.
