This is the continuation of the Lecture on Antibiotic Principles and the Penicillin Antibiotics.
In this Video Lecture, Professor Fink reviews the mechanisms of action, spectrum of action, uses, advantages & disadvantages of the Cephalosporins, Erythromycins, Tetracylines. Brief reference is made to metronidazole (Flagyl), the Sulfa Antibiotics (co-trimoxazole; Bactrim; Septra), the Quinolone Antibiotics (ciprofloxacin; Cipro), and the Antituberculosis Antibiotics (isoniazid; INH; rifampin; pyrazinamide). Professor Fink concludes with the Anti-Fungal Antibiotics (nystatin; Mycostatin; Mycolog) and then reviews the most common drugs used in the treatment of oral infectious and inflammatory diseases.
