I like how in the middle of the review, the guy raves about how immersive the govee kit is and at the same time they are showing footage where the govee lights are incredibly inaccurate... the govee may as well be showing random colours, absolutely no relation to the image on the screen. You are looking at a bright blue sky, meanwhile Govee keeps showing electric red the whole time... Next scene is green background with 2 people in focus, a guy with pink jacket and a lady with green top... Govee again goes: "yup, more electric red, but with a hint of orange on the sides"... Outstanding!

So I run these on my TV and I highly suggest that you bring the saturation down on the Govee immersion. You’ll get much better color accuracy and less latency. By default the saturation is at 100% that’s why some of the viewing of the jungle movie was so saturated with red even though the screen didn’t have a lot of red on it. Govee defaults a lot to red and blue. So to correct this turn the saturation down to 5% and watch the color accuracy increase dramatically and the latency improve! I actually run saturation down at 1 percent.

You can add additional products synced to the Govee you have to update the firmware on everything, but I have 3 additional strips running in Dreamview/immersion mode off of my backlight. Take the saturation down to between 25-35% depending on your TV settings and other room lighting, and the colors get much more accurate. Hue is nice, but my friend that bought the whole kit wishes he had gone wiith Govee because he has to unplug the Syncbox from his TV if he wants to play his Xbox Series X or PS5 at higher frame rates or use VRR. Hue has the edge for absolute accuracy, but after watching movies in both of our theater rooms neither one of us thinks that the Hue is worth the price difference.

Great video. enjoyed the hue presentation and setup and install presented well. . The Govee presentation wasn't really displayed well. The video was too washed out with reds and oranges so I couldn't see the colors synced at all. So he was talking the movie but all I saw was a little blue but mostly the background colors.

Thanks for the feedback, if you watch the latest home tour that person has 3 generations of the govee immersion kits and a solid Philips Hue setup. I upgraded to a projector when we upgraded our basement and I think Colton is still using the Govee products in his home. He'll be starting his own channel soon and I'm focused on smart home tours now

I just purchased and received the full Phillips hue combination and I just found out it doesn’t support hdmi 2.1. I’m thinking about returning it and getting the govee because it doesn’t pass through any boxes. Although I’ve heard and seen the govee isent as accurate with the colors because its using the camera and not a pass through. The choice is either to just keep what I have and wait for Phillips to release a new probably $300 sync with hdmi 2.1 support that can do 4K at 120hz. Or return all the Phillips stuff and deal with the kinda dumb looking camera on top of the tv and imperfect color projection with the govee. Idk what to do now

@@kaiactual3328 philps hue for the money is to limited for the price. Govee, with the new kit that includes the lightbars are a game changer. The firmware is now better, faster in picking up colours. I also got two lyra corner lamps, and with the new Immersion kit with lightbars can sync all govee lights, so have the lyra corner lamps synced also. It's a phillps killer as far as emmersion goes and still cheaper than the philips. At $1000 it would cost me to set up philips for basically the same thung my govee does, yet at 4x the cost expect 10x better than ehat it offers. I would expect more, no hdmi 2.1 and no syncing to tv apps you need a streaming box, or Apple TV to use apps. Also govee are far more versatile strips, can create your own scenes, and colours, etc. My system beats philps and still with 2 lyra corner lamps is still cheaper. Don't need to worry about not having hdmi 2.1. Can sync colours using tv apps. And no don't expect philps to come out with hdmi 2.1 anytime soon. They seem to be in no Hurry ir evrn care to much. With philps the cost of hardware is cheap. Light strips they have cost a fortune and well over priced. The electronic parts in the hdmi box is not worth the cost and once again not even a few $100 worth of components in there. At least with govee, bring camera based and no bridge needed won't get out of date. Philps canned their first light bridge and now have a v3 out, so v2 the next to get the chop and force you to buy the v3 bridge. I was going to get the philps, but for the money ita not worth it when govee basically does the same. I mounted my camera 16" out from bottom of tv, makes a hugh difference. Colour accuracy is pretty good 95% of the time when you have white balance and saturation set correctly and with light bars and 2 lyra corner lamps synced also the emmerion is far better. To do the same with philps you would possibly pay 3x the cost.

@@denodan yeah , govee is hard to beat for the money, but even so, you get what you paid for, I have my govee kit on my gaming tv and the Philips on my movie set, just can’t deal with the lacking of white leds on the govee lightstrip, and for movies i can’t stand it, on games, I’m ok with it

@@samuelgomez974 found putting camera 16” out in front was miles better, camera even picks up more colour. And more accurate colour. The difference is night and day. Have the newer emmersion set that comes with light bars and better than the older version

@@denodan i too have the one with the bars, got it before they renamed it from immersion kit, but it’s still the same as the actual one named dreamview. I like it, again for the price it can’t be beaten, but aside from still slower sync, accuracy is far from Hue, again, without those white leds it can just do so much. Also, the leds are of nice quality, but nowhere near the quality of the Hue leds. Again, for a fraction of the price it is nice, but don’t lie to ourselves, it’s just a good cheaper alternative but not a competition for Hue

Govee doesnt look as fluent flowing as the Hue. But that small amount doesnt justify the $600 difference. I had bought and returned the Hue same day. It is TRASH. I spend $677 from Best Buy for the Hue and its supporting accessories. The light bar would not Sync to my tv. And the light bar kept flickering on and off. Absolute nightmare. Something that should have taken 30 minutes took me 4 hrs that ill never get back. Back to the store it went. HOT TRASH. Great review

4:56 I mean I would just take this video down, how could you publicly want to stand by this 'being amazing' when the calibration is so bad, the colors have nothing to do with what's on the screen? Not trying to be a troll or be mean or anything I just don't think quantity of content promotes a channel, it's more about quality, iI mean it just seems like Govee sent you a free kit and you guys are just going through with the promotional video here or something

I’ve actually taken the channel in a totally different direction and have taken down some older content. There will be a new version with 3 generations of govee immersion kits and another hue sync setup with insights from someone whose owned them for years. If that’s something you’re interested in be sure to subscribe, in the meantime thanks for the feedback, I’d love to hear what you think of the new content (June onward) Merry Christmas!!

A few of yall in the comment section are bashing on Hue. I mean it’s supply and demand. They are doing things nobody else doing. Govee is somewhat close but you can tell in the video the differences. And the diffusion with the strips are probably why the tubes are so thick. Who cares. Im sure after a couple trial and errors youll eventually get it to stay for good. Im imagining a whole room with multiple light strips going off the colors of your TV is definitely an experience. Like they said, this is a luxury item. If you’re complaining about the cost of a luxury then maybe this isn’t for you

@@BrandonDoyleMNi Greg video man! I have a question for you the is Philips hue sink box Required to get the effect of the lights changing on screen? Or can you get that effect without the sync box? can you just have Alexa turn on the lights and then you can troll them from the app? I want everything to turn on together so when I turn my TV on I want my lights to come on

@@bosshova23 you need the sync box to match the screen, if you just want a solid color to light up behind the screen you could use any lightstrips and setup an automation to turn them on/off
