Ha this one really pushed me because there were sooooo many little licks that were similar to other parts which I find to be harder to remember than many very different parts. Thanks for watching!

amazing, thank you for this. can you tell us about the tone? what are the pedals / settings to get that tone? sounds pretty on-point to that era...

Ibanez tube screamer and Ross compressor are the heart of the tone. The synth portion I'm not sure exactly what. Check out Trery's summer 2021 rig rundown

Chris amazing work and I am so happy to have found your channel while getting back into playing regularly. I have a few of the pedals on trey's board, can you tell me if the lead around 5 min was a pog2, sy1, key9, or m5 for the synth sound?

Hey thanks for watching! I used a Univibe + OC-3 + Tube Screamer to emulated it...not exact but close enough!

What settings / effects do you have on when playing the intro/verses and the solo. I have a Stratocaster so I know its vaslty different from a PRS and Treys Languedoc but if you have any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. I don't think it sounds very good on using the bridge pickup for the intro/verses but I find Im going back and forth from neck to bridge during the solo and jam. Also, love your videos but it might be really helpful to put notes in the description or even in the videos themselves which settings you use for each lesson. I mean, it goes without saying you use a wah for the first solo and a Phaser for the intro of PYITE but some may not realize its off once the verse starts. But for songs where the pickup settings are crucial, it would be really awesome to know that stuff! Again you have Great channel that is SO helpful!

Hey Chris, thanks for the feedback and that is a great idea! For this one I think I used an Octave pedal with the high gain Tubescreamer engaged and then switched on a Univibe for certain parts. During the really intense parts I put both Tubescreamers on I think. I can't quite remember the pickup(s) I used though. I hope that helps!

So mostly Dm pentatonic? I thought he would adjust the position a bit more when they go between D and Bb in the rhythm, but he just kind of bends it in to the basic pentatonic shape. I'm pretty sure this was my 2nd Phish show.
