I read on Quora that phosphoric acid is also commonly sold as an anti nausea agent. I believe it said one pill is 29mg. Vs one 200ml Coca-Cola contains 200mg so it must be safe. Probably is why I can eat that few extra pounds of chicken wings without feeling 🤮

Catalina Dressing for salad as phosphoric acid, however the calorie wise does not have phosphoric acid, and taste more sour, however both kind have vingear,

@Kitchen Alchemy from Modernist Pantry: I'm in New brunswick in Canada, and both Pepsi, and CocaCola does mention the ingredient phosphoric acid, so it his not a secret imgredient, it his the same for the United version, the only diffrence his the kind of sugar used, the Canadian version does not used High fructose corn syrup, so they are more healthy compare to the US counterpart, for example if you prefered the taste of Pepsi in the United state, you would have to drink Coca Cola in Canada for the exact same taste, Pepsi tase more sour in Canada because they don't used the high fructose corn syrup, but they still put both Phosphoric acid, and Citric Acid that his also in the United state version, while the Coca Cola, they only put Phosphoric Acid, and the sweetness comes from the caramel color, the US Coca Cola same ingreadiant as the Canadian except they replace the suguar with high fructose corn syrup, so the US Coca cola taste disgustingly sweet.

Not entirely positive since we haven't tried it with a sodastream, but we don't see why it wouldn't?

i think with a soda stream you’re supposed to carbonate plain water first and mix in the flavor syrup after, so just add this into your syrup recipe and it should work!

How to calculate phosphoric acid for the amount of ingredients to br added ?

add up the weight of the ingredients and divide the weight of the phosphoric acid by that amount

I just think of it because they used sodas as meat tenderizer. I do research and thats because of the acid.

Lastly, can i mix it right away with water and not cooking it or heated? Then it will be safe to be consumed? What do you think? Im really obsessed for looking meat tenderizer for my grill business

Since we haven't done the research of phosphoric acid as a tenderizer we can't really comment on it.

Try pineapple juice/pulp to tenderize your meat. Works extremely well. Guga foods does a series on tenderizers and it works really well

Does phosphoric acid have any negative long term impact on our health if we drink too much sweet tea with this acid?

The negative long-term effects of drinking too much sweet tea are due to the consumption of large quantities of sugar. not acid. These of course include obesity, diabetes, and a number of related conditions.

I'm just a wee bit leery of adding phosphoric acid to my food, given the hints that dietary phosphoric acid may be linked to bone density issues, if only in older women. For example, there is this 13-year-old study: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17023723 I don't feel equipped to evaluate this.

If you've ever drank a soda you've had phosphoric acid already. All things in moderation is our general recommendation

That study implied there may be a correlation between those that consume colas and a reduction of bone density. Tangentially, did you know those that drink diet sodas are more overweight? Same with diet dressing. Because those that consume those foods have poor eating habits and lack moderation. Diet sodas and reduced calorie products do not CAUSE weight gain, they are CORRELATED. The study did not specify any variables needed for your conclusion. No dietary work up, no frequency numbers, lifestyle choices (other than smoker), region info, age demographics, medical histories, etc. Calm yourself.

I experienced phosphoric acid in the form of 2 gallons of concrete etcher interacting with my concrete garage. Thanks for propagating the agent that weakens bones, causes kidney and liver damage, and breaks down skin. You winners!

That's a common misconception that something that is used in industrial applications is also being used in food. Food grade ingredients have a much higher standard for purity than commercial and cosmetic grade ingredients. In addition the amount that is used for food applications is always going to be significantly less than what is used in say...a concrete etcher. If you've ever drank soda in your life you have already consumed phosphoric acid.

people believe what they want. reminds me of a story of a snake oil salesman. he uses some chemistry to make some medicines spontaneously catch fire, "acids bad!".. doesn't mean it's true. I'm sitting here eating sour peach rings, lots of acids, yum
