Love the tip about measuring out & setting aside all your spices beforehand so you can just quickly add them all at once! I am a young adult trying to learn to cook for myself properly and I always struggle with timing of everything! I am bad at multitasking (thanks ADHD) & don’t have much cooking experience, so it always feels like some part of the meal ends up slightly overdone and another part slightly underdone! 😢 Do you have any other recipes that are quick, simple, easy for beginners & don’t have a lot of prep or require a lot of clean up or various fancy appliances/tools? I work such long late hours that I often have little energy left to cook for myself once I finally get home from work. Extra points if they are low-FODMAP or otherwise IBS friendly! Thank you ❤
@hannahmitchell877 ай бұрын
Good on you for teaching yourself valuable cooking skills! If you have access to a freezer, meals like these can be frozen in portions then just heated up when you get home. It can be a nice idea to get a simple stew or sauce base down, then when you defrost, add a protein source (can of beans/ tvp etc) & use herbs & spices to change up the flavours. Stops your meals getting too stale & samey. Stir fries are another quick option (I prep & freeze my veg) which don't require you to use a specific recipe, just chuck everything in with some quick cook noodles & add some sauce or peanut butter. I bet you'll gain confidence in the kitchen in no time! Have fun! X

I just finished eating that butternut soup and oh my gosh, that’s amazing. Sadly I did not have any naan bread so a slice of rye bread had to be used. And it was great. I will get naan for later as I think it will shine with this curry soup. Delicious main meal on the work day. I substituted fresh tomatoes with 2 tins of crushed tomatoes. Initially I used 1 tin but it felt like it needed one more to be closer to soup and less like a curry. Can see how you could easily convert this to curry dish with rice. Will make it again!!!

I had to tell you, I made the Butternut Squash soup last night for dinner, it was fantastic! It took a little longer to cook I probably didn't chop the squash small enough and I'm not real fast when I'm trying a new recipe. The funny thing was, after I wrote on the recipe how good it was, I noticed that I had read one of the ingredients wrong. I put one Tablespoon of Chile powder, instead of Curry powder! We loved it, but I'll make it your way next time!
