I think Bond has never filmed in Hawaii. Bond character favorite places are suppose to be Bahamas as Dr. No and Casino Royale were filmed there. Jamaica I think we’re also often used.

Peace Frog Quite agreed. I’m just making comments about Bond movies filming location. The character Bond did film in Maui, but it was the stuntman, the beginning surfing scene in Die Another Day. Bond Movies likes certain places a lot. Particularly in the Caribbean. Bahamas, Puerto Rico was used for Cuba for Golden Eye. Cuba scenes were often filmed else. Die Another Day used Spain in place of Cuba. Fictional San Monique in Live and Let Die was actually shot in Jamaica. Just being a geek for Bond.

@@TheRealJohnHooper Well considering that stars and Hollywood as a whole give zero credit to stuntmen and half the time don't even pay their medical bills when they're hurt or killed (see Deadpool 2 or Resident Evil) I would say most of them are assholes then. The fact that 25 years later the actor is still giving him credit is pretty amazing and something you don't hear very often. Most actors can't even remember their own filmography. Gwyenth Paltrow forgot she starred in Spider-Man Homecoming two years after she shot the film for godsakes. Just to prove my point, see if you can name me 5 different stuntmen that work in the industry. I bet you can't do it without google. They're never talked about and very rarely get the credit they are due.

Got to give Pierce credit for doing this. Many actors are not comfortable doing interviews, nor watching their own films. He must have been wishing at times for the movie to end, (as he did check the timer several times). But he hung in there, totally unscripted, and it was fascinating to see Pierce Brosnan relate his experiences as Bond. Good for him. He also referred to obvious current events several times and I think he wanted to contribute in some way to help entertain people for a couple of hours. As he described his take on Bond himself....he was a "hybrid" of sorts. He could play a scene seriously, and could also very easily play another for laughs. It's been said that his films after GoldenEye had weaker scripts and didn't serve him well. There may be truth to that, but Pierce Brosnan certainly looked and sounded the part, and was a very convincing Bond....regardless of the invisible Aston. He deserves a hearty round of applause for appearing from his home to entertain us. Cheers sir.

@@joshuarichard6827 I don't consider it moronic to give credit to one of the six actors who have played an iconic, cinematic hero that has graced movie screens for almost 60 years. As for your certainty that Brosnan was paid millions......do you work for Esquire Magazine, or are you his agent, or do you have contempt for the very small percentage of Screen Actor Guild members who have done very well? You have a vast audience here who wants to know how you know how much Pierce Brosnan earned for doing this. Well, we're waiting.

James Bond has been a constant throughout my life and I appreciate the principal actors (and the delightful cast members) for their considerable virtues. @AD-kv9kj 4 жыл бұрын
I actually find Goldeneye to be possibly the best Bond film ever made in terms of actual film-making, taking all things into account. Licence to Kill is close behind for me. Casino Royale was good but massively overweight and meandering and all the shoehorned in action sequences in the first third of the movie get tiresome and the Venice sequence at the end is just such a big contrived set-piece. The only real reason Royale was good was because of the full novel of original Ian Fleming material they had to work from, everything else they added in sticks out like a sore thumb. I also still have issues with the use of Texas Hold'em poker instead of Baccarat at the casino. It just seems really tacky and all the garbage about Le Chiffre's "tell" is like if Sean Connery were explaining the idiot's guide on how to play Baccarat at the beginning of Dr No. Goldeneye is a far superior piece of writing and film-making and Brosnan in it feels far more like 007 than Daniel Craig ever has. Granted, he is better in Casino Royale than his other ones but still feels quite weird, stiff and awkward in the role, slightly robotic and more like some Russian henchman masquerading as James Bond. As for a few smaller aspects, the title sequence and song for Goldeneye is MILES better than the junk they made for Royale, which, along with some of the tacked on sequences to force more action into the plot, gives a kind of kids film vibe to the movie.. which is bizarre because some of the violence and psychological drama in it is very dark and excellent, so the other stuff just detracts from all the really good stuff they had in CR. I can never order them specifically because it just depends on my mood, but my top (00)7 Bond films of all time are, in order of release: Dr No From Russia With Love On Her Majesty's Secret Service The Living Daylights Licence to Kill Goldeneye Casino Royale

Austin Dyer all that considered analysis is definitely worth a like, even though we disagree. I'm actually a fan of the Casino Royale title sequence - both the visuals and the song.

I’m obviously highly biased and influenced by my childhood + 90s nostalgia, but Brosnan will always be the definitive Bond for me. He might not have been as gritty as Craig - nor as iconic as Connery, but in my humble opinion he was the perfect Bond. The Bond of my generation. - He single-handedly saved/revived the franchise when most thought it had run its course after a long series of boxoffice bombs (no offense, Dalton, Lazenby and to some degree Moore)... Yeah his portrayal of Bond was often criticized for the cheesy one-liners back in the day (which were the writers fault, not his!) and of cause no actors is without flaws, but IMO he perfectly balanced the delicate line between being an macho action hero and a suave British gentleman - the very essence of the character.

At Sunday School, in a packed the church, the Vicar was saying about the beautiful churches in St Petersburg, and he asked the children if any of them new where St Petersburg was. My Son's hand shot up and he said 'Russia". The Vicar was very impressed and asked how he knew that - my Sons reply "because thats where James Bond goes to on my Nintendo 64 Goldeneye game"! I remember my older brother and dad going to see Goldeneye when it came out in the cinema and me finally getting to see it a few years later. Still one of my favourite films. Then I got Goldeneye on N64 for Xmas 1997, one of the best games ever. My friends and I played it constantly for years. I'm certainly not the only person who has irrationally fond memories of this movie and Pierce Brosnan. I'm chuffed to see a lot of you guys also share the same love for it and that Pierce has fond memories of making it. 32:50 I still remember 3 years ago when life was so uncertain and I found myself in the strangest situation I had ever been... But somehow, hearing Pierce say "they will pass... they will pass..." brought me a feeling of calmness and hope.

Wonderful to hear and see Pierce Brosnan talk about his experience shooting this film, and tell us all these great anecdotes. Really loved it. Thanks Pierce, you are such a gentleman, not only in the movies, but in real life too!

Thanks Pierce for taking the time to watch Goldeneye with us, an amazing and treasured experience. A brilliant film with a top actor. I'd love to watch Thomas Crown with you 😉😀 Many thanks again and look forward to seeing more of you in the future

Grateful for Pierce Brosnan’s live commentary on his GoldenEye film. Loved the few stories he told. Wanted to hear more but I respect that he doesn’t like to watch himself on screen. Wished Director Martin Campbell had been there, too. Love that Brosnan is grateful to his fans.

Good points. Thirty-six hours later I'm still admiring this like some multifaceted jewel that catches the light just so. I cannot say enough good things about it and heaven knows I have tried.

wonder what happened to Martin Campbell. he hasn't made anything since 2017. which is kinda sad he is one of the best directors ever, he has made 2 of the greatest Bond movies

@@v-trigger6137 I wish Pierce Brosnan had played Bond in Casino Royale instead of Daniel Craig. But I guess he was too old at the time because he was in his late 40s - 50s while Daniel Craig was in his late 30s during that time.

@@emilio2647 yes I wish that too but then again the idea of Casino Royale wouldn't had worked with Brosnan. since it was a realistic gritty take on the Bond franchise. it was drastically different than Brosnan era movies. plus, as you said he was already in 50s at that point, they probably wanted a younger actor. but I can totally imagine Brosnan in Skyfall. since the whole concept of that movie was about Bond being old and trying to adjust in the new world. also the tone of that movie was very similar to Goldeneye
