From his IMDB page: "Since the 2000s, Kirby has had a spike in popularity as a result of the growth of the internet, and largely due to internet comedic film reviewer, Brad Jones (a.k.a. The Cinema Snob), who almost worshipped the movies of Kirby."

From The Snob Tumblr Pierre Kirby was a yacht dealer, and on one of his trips, his boat was taken over by pirates and he was tossed overboard. That’s actually really what happened, this was not long after he completed his last movie with IFD. His sister once got in touch with me after I did Pierre Kirby week, because she had no idea that her brother ever did any movies and she wanted copies of them. She said the weirdest part was seeing him with a dubbed voice, as he had a heavy British accent in real life. I will definitely review the final Pierre Kirby movie. It’s called Crackdown Mission, and it’s a knock off of Ms 45.

@Wrath's Heinous Anus Was Devoured by Happy Scrappy Very likely. He was last seen by a friend before he left hong kong to deliver a yacht somewhere(don't remember exactly where), but it turned out the area had pirate activity. Apparently the yacht never arrived and he's never been heard from since. :(

I really would like to think that Pierre is still out there, living a quiet life somewhere in Southeast Asia... Couple of years ago I was on a ship in Thailand Gulf and I brought with me a flower and threw it in sea somewhere there as I thought it might as well have been his watery grave... Strange years, those 80s, when you could make living in Asia just by being an American...
@rionthemagnificent2971

its a shame what happened to Mr. Kirby. Though the waters of southern asia are still as treacherous now as it was then, but not with pirates, but with an entitled Communist nation's warships who harass local traffic.

I get spooked every time I hear that Unsolved Mysteries theme track. Takes me back to my childhood when I was watching that show back in the '80s. And add to that the voice and presence of Robert Stack. I'd love to not only see Brad bring back Cinema Snob Mysteries, but to host it while wearing a suit and trench coat and standing in a foggy street in the dead of night.
@Pocketrocket-pj1us
@Pocketrocket-pj1us 9 ай бұрын
I had the same feelings with Unsolved Mysteries and still do, all these years later! I know very little about music but the theme song, always made me think of J.C. 's theme to Halloween (1978). So eerie. Robert stack was great but it felt like he was a ghost himself, with the smoke/fog, voice,and Loomis-like trenchcoat. There was something about him, that helped propel that show to the stratosphere, especially for the kids in the suburbs. Where the scariest thing we usually saw, was a racoon or other small Critter! This show changed us, if you were in the right age group. Cheers from Canada

Pierre Kirby week was my gateway to Snob reviews. I was curious about the Cinema Snob from having seen several crossovers with Doug Walker so I clicked on the first video I found, the one with brightly colored ninjas. After that, I was hooked and have been ever since. Here's to Pierre Kirby, wherever he's disappeared to. Oh, and Happy 10th! Thank you for all the laughs! Man, I wish brad would do more obscure and foreign movies. Maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but he was always in his element when doing things like Godfrey Ho, Italian zombie movies, Caligula, or turkish rambo films. XD My fondest snob memories are of these. Though Moment By Moment is my favorite episode and it doesn't exactly fit the bill. I'm still waiting for that turkish movie about the prison wardens daughter and the 99 prisoners movie review! I am sure it's totally youtube safe!

27:05 First time I saw this, I was not in tune with the Snob's patented sarcasm. So when he said, "Who steals the music from 'Maniac' ?? I yelled out, me!!! And I was offended because I had just finished a college film, where I did exactly what Brad had "mocked", and I thought I had done a good job! LoL As the video continued, I finally got this Brad Jones, Cinema Snob character and a 15 year Love affair began :) If you think a one sided, doesn't even know who I am, Love affair, can exist!!! Naturally, all of us Geeks, Nerds, Kirby's & Yeti's, know that it can! Thanks for the laughs and memories!! And as Spoony once said about the Iron Sheik, 'You! You just stay as you are (no need to ever change). Cheers from Montreal, where even the French people get you...eventually ;)
