The People's Court

The plaintiff says the defendant is his younger brother. He alleges the defendant stole a valuable Marc Chagall painting from their father that the plaintiff was supposed to sell. He’s suing for $5,000 for the theft. The defendant says he and his brother haven’t had a relationship in 30 years. He says the painting is a fake and is worth nothing.

I am happy the judge seen right through the sleazy guy and gave the brother the max she could give me and if she was able she would have gave him every dime owed to him for the estate plus gave him sleazy’s part of the estate because he broke the estate orders too.. Happy for the brother hope he keeps suing for everything The brother for what that belongs to him because he deserves it just as the others do.. Stand for your grounds....

We didn’t want to sell it we were going to split it up amongst the kids and grandkids. She took it from my mom/ younger brothers house and now refuses to give it back. She all of a sudden turned into some kind of evil villain. I thought about suing her but I heard my mom’s voice tell me to “let it go, it’s not worth it you have a lot of blessings coming your way.” I love my mom and I don’t want to dishonor her by arguing over material things. So I let it go and when I say soo many exciting, huge blessings have been bestowed upon me. I am so grateful and my sister can keep the stuff.

I don’t understand how you can lose your PARENTS and even care about money and all of that. I loss my mommy and I don’t care about what she left me. I couldn’t imagine forcing litigation about it either.

I think it was less about money (it's small claims court after all) and more about his rivaly with his brothers. It was more important for him to be "right" and not letting his brother get away with it.

How terrible! At the end of the day this shouldn't ever get like this between family. I wouod happily give my siblings whatever they wanted or needed bc it should be about sentimental value and memories. Respect for parents and one another. When my grandmother passed all I wanted was things she had accumulated over the many years of my childhood that I didn't keep or made her. Things that we shared together ❤️ and some of her spicy clothing and jammies as it carried a special memory for me. Sorry for anyone that deals with this. Hellos from Alaska, Tschandra

My father's last parent died while he was living overseas and there was some squabble between the four siblings over how the estate was to be divided. I was just a little kid and don't know much of the details but do know that my father said he didn't want to be involved in the mess and he'd be happy with getting nothing if it meant they didn't have to fight anymore. I don't think he's spoken to his siblings since then.
