The plaintiff says he bought a car for the defendant, his daughter, and put it in his name. He claims she got into an accident and pocketed the insurance money, so he’s suing her to teach her a lesson. The defendant says the plaintiff bought the car as a gift, and she paid for the insurance. She claims the new woman in her dad’s life is just money hungry, and that’s why he’s suing.

My mom was angry with me when she passed away. I divorced my husband, got full custody and told my mom to mind her own business. My mom was pushy and abusive. Im grown and dont take that. In a fit she wrote a will leaving everything, a nicely decorated house, a business and all the furnishings, a nice car, two bank accounts to two of my brothers, leaving me nothing. She thought I would get mad like her. When her attorney notified me I said so what. Its her stuff. Two violent hateful brothers went through it all. The house was filled with so many gifts I had bought her that they disposed of. I was irked that she ignored my daughter, her only grandchild. Its ok cuz shes burning in hell now.

Seems to me like the kids were used to dad paying for everything, and when the fiancée came into the picture, she made him realize they were taking advantage of him. If their mother is no longer living, and the fiancée is living in their father's house, then they should not just be able to come and go from the house. They are mad that they no longer have all of their father's attention and money, and probably that he moved on what they consider to be too quickly.

I feel terrible for the father. These 50-YEAR OLD adults, who still act like entitled kids, are spoiled, selfish, gross human beings. They are accustomed to him doing everything for them clearly, and are now upset with him just because he has a new wife? He’s bought her two cars. She thinks that just because she was still speaking to him that he was supposed to keep buying him cars. And they’re upset because he put his new wife in the will. Did they want their mother and father, or did they continue to want people to pay for everything, spoil them, and smother them. The counselor told the other daughter to stay away from the father, but what did she tell the counselor; a therapist or counselor can only help you if you’re being honest and forthcoming and really want to heal. If you’re telling the story from your pathology and only hoping to get someone to validate you, it’s of no use. He should leave them to their own devices and not pay them a penny. What a disgusting group of people. I feel so bad for the father.

The defendants are the height of entitlement Karens. The way they said things they were entitled to everything in the house because mom lived there at one time. There is more going on if they were not talking before fiance. Most likely is that Dad was the bank and with Mom gone Dad is seeing that there is more to life than just taking care of everyone else. I think the fiance is telling him to take care of himself and let the "children" start taking care of themselves. The way they were saying brought her into my moms house is very telling.

It depends on what she told her therapist/counselor. She may have painted a horrible picture of her father, prompting the counselor to tell her to stay away. After all, one is supposed to be open and honest, and therefore there would be no reason to doubt her side of the story. The only way counseling would work for this family is if the father and children all went together at some point. Otherwise, it'll all be one person's perspective, and nothing may ever get resolved.

A few minutes into this program & I could see exactly what was going on here & the judge hit it. The only thing that the judge didn't say that I also believe plays a huge part in the anger & hatred going on here, probably because she was trying to be delicate & polite, is that these 'children' are terrified that they are going to lose any inheritance that they may have been guaranteed of before dad met his new fiance. 3 years after their mother's death, dad begins to date again, which is not a bad thing. For whatever years dad has remaining on this planet he has a right to happiness & if re-marrying brings him that happiness, so be it. I think that these children are very selfish & think only of themselves & "the money". As I said previously, I believe that the siblings' anger & displeasure with their father stems mostly, (98%), from "financial inheritance insecurity' now that dad has a new woman/fiance/wife, in his life. It's time to make your own way in the world kiddies & stop depending on/using dad.

My father passed away very suddenly after being married to my mother for 40 years. After almost 2 years my mom has found someone she enjoys spending time with. It has been difficult to see her with someone else and for him be in the house where I have so many memories of my dad. However, I realize how lonely she must be after having a mate for so many years then to wake up one day alone. I try to keep in mind that she’s human and deserves companionship and happiness. I think these children need to keep this in mind. Their father deserves some happiness at his age.

Trust me as a wife if something were to happen I’d want my loved ones to move on and be happy. Spiteful ungrateful daughters. And good for him for taking them off the will. Your father doesn’t owe you a life of luxury but a stable one which sounds like he provided when they were growing up.

Hmmm...I think there's more going on in this family that they didn't wanna share on TV. All of the kids wouldn't disown their father over money. A son doesn't bust in and yell at his father for having a new gf 3 YEARS later. They're engaged and she hadnt even met his kids. The one daughter said her therapist said to stay away from him. He's paying for cars. That sounds like guilt to me. There's definitely a lot more going on.

Yes...so the judge should not be playing 'psychologist!!' She most often does that and shames people without knowing facts & details of their personal life. She also has no right to 'probe' and attack personal issues rudely and crudely on public tv!! The dad suing his 50 yr old daughter who's had heart-surgery is shameful on his part. And how come he didn't even bother to introduce this new woman to his children?!!

We glimpse just a snapshot of a family. The judge had already made her decision, that after fours years it should be considered a gift, when she started probing for juicy details for television. He has a right to change his will, however, people don’t consider that the assets he had at the time of their mother’s death are accumulated assets and I’m sure the mother would want her half to go to her children.

My best friend mother died last year and when her husband started dating someone shortly after that, the family as a whole disowned him. He was like, who cares? None of you were actually blood. I was a stepdad. Now that your mother is no longer here, you can go. I would have done the same thing if my wife died. The kids should not be angry because dad has a new life. I am so blessed to say, at the age of 55, I'm so happy that I have no children. I would not want my child to be friends with any of his entitled brats.

These children understand no boundaries. It’s their father’s home and his life for god sake! Mother had been gone for 3 years. If he were my dad, I’d like for him to find someone to share the rest of his life with. By the way, when my daughter got married and moved out of the house, I still wanted her to keep my house’ key for emergency. But she never once come over without asking first. It’s technically not her house anymore. It’s common courtesy and decency to not treat it as if she still lives there. She just can’t come in and out whenever she wants to and eats anything in the fridge without asking first. We’re very close and talk to each other everyday. We’ll do anything for each other. But we respect each other’s space and privacy. He seemed to be a very loving father who did way too much for his children. They think they’re entitled to everything he has including the air that he breathes, his time and possessions. Shame on these selfish and greedy adult children. If I were him, I’ll cut them out of my will completely. I’d rather donate it to a good cause and take care of the one person that loves me and takes care of me in my old age and that’s my spouse.

But distance helps me to be civil and now I talk to my mother's husband often and we are on good terms. These adult children need therapy. I know how they feel. Once the parent that's alive starts ignoring you, it's like you lost a second parent. That's how I felt for a very long time but realized my mother deserves happiness. Before my father died of brain cancer, age 32, him and my mother talked about it, and he said that he wouldn't want my mother to spend the rest of her life alone, lonely, and sad - though my mother never remarried, and my father died when I was 4, it would be so strange having someone else move into my family, but at the same time.... This case is really sad, but sometimes when someone's wife passes away, people move on - they can't spend the next 20 or 30 years sad and alone, but do continue their life. I wish my mother had found someone she loved again, who could make her happy, and she wouldn't have had all these sad lonely years, she's 70 now, she's been alone more than half of her life,.and was only happily married for all of 7 years, a tenth of her life, the rest is spent waiting, wishing, and hoping to be reunited in the afterlife. It's very unfair and very hard on her, but she was never able to find someone who met her standards. My father was a special man, and in those short years, my mother wound up spoiled from anybody else. Those children love their mother so much, it hurts them to see their father with someone new in the home that they lived in, it's awful, but at their age, we have to mature and move on at some point, you can't hold things against people forever. They've lost their mother, but if they keep this up, they will lose their father as well, not by death, but distance.

Worst judgment by the judge ever. Even if she doesn’t owe money to her father for a car, she owes him for all he did to raise her up. Posioned minds of the defendants - let them think about all that they are doing for their kids. Thoir kids in the future will treat them exactly the same way they treated their parents. Ungrateful wretched kids. treat their father worst than a stranger. And the judge has the audacity to agree with that ungratefulness. Perhaps if her lawyer daughters sued her, she would realize the ungratefulness and ingratitude - if her daughters ever get that wretched. Soon he will die and won’t be around any more , then they will cry. They will regret their wretchedness .
