Pioneer Farmsaw - SOLID Vintage Chainsaw - 44 Years Old And Still Workin' Hard!

I bought this saw as a powerhead only in a bundle with two other saws. The saw was covered in grime, in pieces, missing parts and "non running" according to the prior owner. I cleaned it up, tweaked a few things, installed a new bar and chain and now she's puttin' in work! I love this saw!
The bar fit fine, the oil holes lined up, but the chain tensioning stud would not fit in the holes on the bar. I had to round out both holes with my drill. Bam, she was on. The saw is oiling like mad! You can adjust the oiler by way of an adjustment screw on the bottom of the saw. I was wanting to get it in the wood, I just let the oil fly.

I hate it that Oregon went to a cheaper Power Cut bar and discontinued the Power Match bar

I've had good luck with all my Power Cut bars thus far. I have a few saws with Power Match bars and like them as well.

Cool old saw. It cleaned up nice. All the saws I have owned in the past,I have never owned one of those, but I have seen a few.

I got lucky with this one. You don't see too many of them for sale. Keep your eyes peeled, you'll find one...

Congrats Man! I haven't had mine apart yet, but I've repaired quite a few on other saws. Is there something tricky about the one on the Farmsaw?

I have one id sell right now for $350 1979 with 18 in bar... They are beast.. Ive been cutting osage trees down with my ol farmsaw and im very impressed. Located in south central iowa if interested.. Btw nice vid and safe cutting out there man.. Take care
