Thought I'd pull out my Pioneer p61 and give her a run. With a 98cc reed valve engine this saw packs some serious pull!!!
Second is I do some noodling with the farnertec 288 kitsaw and continue breaking it in.

I have a p51 with very low hours on it my dad bought it in 1980 after Mt St Helens erupted and sent a bunch of old growth down the Cowlitz to the Columbia river and he needed a saw big enough to cut that stuff. but after one season the farmer cut off river access on his land so we could no longer get to those big logs and the saw sat I inherited it about 15 years ago and just recently got it running. What a great saw That p61 sounds just like mine Love it.

My old man was a Pioneer dealer. I learned to respect them at a young age. That being said, dad always had boxes of spare reeds in stock. Lots of P42's went through the shop. Pioneer had some neat saw designs and some wicked fast factory saws. When they went belly up it was nothing but Jonsered 670's at home except the 2094 with 48" bar that bucked logs on the landing until we got a slasher.

My first chainsaw, was a Pioneer P25, that I bought new in 1973. I loved the saw for cutting firewood and clearing, but needed something bigger. I replaced it with a Stihl 051, and decided to sell the Pioneer. I regretted selling it, from the day after it left the property. I now have a P29, and a couple of the older Pioneers, an RA, and a 1750 (120 cc), but would like to have another Pioneer work saw like your P61. They are great saws, with a long history. I have done a fair amount of ripping, and that saw was cutting beautifully.

THAT is a very cool saw :) And this video and how your dealing with firewood looks really familiar. And I have a box of "lost and mis-fit chains" I toss in the ones I've been using logging that hit something and I don't feel like filing on the job. About five gallons worth, I use them for a lot of the "hobby saw" noodling especially in big maple where there are sure to be taps. :) Fun video, keep them coming! ( See your g288 is doing well , mine has HOURS of noodling time. Still going strong )

It's nice having deer live on ur property with ya. First winter at my place we got like 3ft of wet heavy snow. I was on the roof shoveling snow and I looked out in the yard and there was over 30 deer just lookin up at me like hey what u got for us. I fed them enough wet cob that winter to fill up a 8ft truck bed with just empty bags. Now when they see me pull in the driveway they come haulin arse down the hill to see what I got the to throw down their yap. I'm just glad the elk dont come down. They r very very destructive!
