I totally feel the overwhelming and anxious feelings trying to pivot into a new career in this tough market - I had the same exact concerns and thoughts too. I think marketing intelligence is a wonderful background with a lot of transferable skillsets to put to use in UXR. If you have a tight timeline, I think it might even be worth to start a career in marketing intelligence and make the move once the tech industry calms down a little. I have so many connections who are struggling to find a job right now despite all their years of experience in UXR. The tech market isn’t looking promising🥲 I don’t do individual consulting at this time! But I might open it up sometime soon. Stay tuned, I’m with you Flavia!♥️

Hi Evan! In undergrad, I highly suggest you explore options - Are you sure about wanting to go into UXR? How about UX Design? I think undergrad is the time to explore various professions. If you’re feeling pretty good about research, get yourself familiar with the basics of UXR - Nielson Norman group always has such good educational material, @Aona Yang has great content, and uxr related podcasts are great too! Then, jump in and try it out yourself - One way is to try to create a ux research case study on your own in school with other students. Any pain points you’ve felt as a student? I always recommend jumping in and learning on the go, once you’ve gotten the basics. Tl;dr: explore various career options while in undergrad! If you’re ready to jump in, get the basic understanding via online materials and get going with your case study while in school!

​@@Tifffster What are your favorite UX research podcasts? I haven't considered the idea of a student case study before (especially because my uni administration is very reluctant to take any ideas from students haha) but I think it's worth a shot - for the experience if nothing else!
