Misery I have is - guy with red lathe doing the steering box - surface weld on both joints. Machine a ‘V’ to the coupling insert area for a complete fusion weld which would give you ‘near original strength’. Need I mention letting the welded item be allowed to cool before machining?

Yes and welding in lathes is not the right thing to do, those bearings are taking 150 amps plus ouch.

1:34:11 Number one cam should be in line with cam four and its not, it's not far out but it matters as the piston timing will be wrong.

Very rough repair, won’t last, surface welding only. Sheesh, no coolant in drilling or tapping axle. This is crap engineering, for entertainment value only. 😡😡
