Sarges heroes 2 , Air Attack 1-2 and RTS are the recommended ones that most know. Theres also the originals which are a mix of strategy and top down Shootery so im not as sure about recommending those. Theres several other tittles but they vary quite a bit.

Army Men RTS played a huge part in my childhood - it might be fairly standard for the genre, but I'd still say it's worth checking out purely for the neat plastic-gathering mechanics.

Despite being the weaker console, the PS1 version of this has CGI cutscenes while this uses the in game graphics just like the N64 version.

I played the PS1 Version as a Kid. I was playing it, yesterday in fact. I seriously recommend checking out the entire series of games. They're plentiful. I liked your ideas, too. The community for Plastic Army Men modeled their worldbuilding based on these games.

I've always wondered: The bullets are the same colour plastic as the shooter, the guns are too, and even the tanks are coloured plastic. Does that mean all these items are made of flesh? Are they sentient?

I’m glad to see this game holds up better than I thought it would. I do seem to remember an awful lot of tanks in the first part of the game, though. I have very fond memories of the multiplayer, especially the kitchen level, that place was huge!

My very first game was Army Men: World War: Team Assault (yeah, that name is weird). It's a bit like this except the frame rate is worse, you can strafe and drive vehicles (semi-cool), and you control up to two characters from a pool of eight (citation needed). The split-screen multiplayer was pretty cool too.

I remember where every villain is located on each map. I always played this game every time when I had the chance before I started playing PlayStation. I use cheat codes every now and then because my controller doesn’t work all too well like it used to. Yeah the buttons still work but sometimes when you’re running you can’t jump. Like you can but sometimes it doesn’t work and I always end up falling to my doom when I’m on the couch in the living room

As much as I hate to admit it, the PC and PS1 version are the best versions of the game due to the fact that they have full CG Animated Cutscenes AND have the best controls. The Dreamcast Version, however, DOES have the Best Graphics of all versions of this game, admittedly. But Graphics don't mean anything if the controls are inferior.

Okay I swear I have memory of playing one of these games on the OG Xbox but have no idea which one it was. I just remember all of the levels were set in a backyard or in a house. There was a level in a kitchen where you had to avoid stepping on hot stoves and there were snowboarding segments and maybe parachuting sections. It didn't have any of these more realistic military looking levels. If anyone knows the name it would be appreciated

I know this video is three years old, but I just have to say that while the N64 version will always hold a special place in my heart, the Dreamcast port would be definitive if it had the PS1 cutscenes. The N64 version has horrendous amounts of slowdown that the Dreamcast version pretty much eliminates, the game runs smooth the whole time. Just a shame that Jim Cummings sounds a lot less enthusiastic than in the PS1 cutscenes, but then again, it’s kind of like the Metal Gear Solid and Twin Snakes situation except here the underlying game is exactly the same minus the graphics and sound. The PC port of Rayman 2 perfectly marries the N64 and Dreamcast version, at least in my eyes.
@accountname83303 жыл бұрын
Hey do you have a PO box? I'll try and track down a copy of sarge's heros 2. Also i know for a fact you can manually aim in the N64 versions of these two games
