Janik and Joss are the cutest couple ever. They remind me of me and my husband when we're in our 20s and he was learning Spanish and I was learning English and understanding each other's pop culture. It was so much fun

When I play this game with bilingual friends (English-Spanish) friends I would say "this is called a royal turkey" for peacock. For outhouse I'd say it's another word for a latrine. My friend Katy and I are both interpreters so it's super easy to use synonyms or words that are literal translations. Needless to say, we are normally not allowed to be on the same team. Reading of the charges = arraignment. Flower-sucker = humming bird. In fact, there are tons of words in English that are almost never used that are cognates with Spanish like somnambulist = sleepwalker, calumny = slander. Knowing Spanish really helps to understand or know high register words in English.
