Good news! There is a way to make your Black Friday purchase of the Monster IlluminEssence LED Strip worthwhile!

For those who purchased the Monster IlluminEssence LED Strip on Black Friday from Walmart, you probably got left with a defective unit. Over the past month, we have been trying to come up with a solution, working with both Monster and the factory that produces the products to identify and solve the issue. However, it's Christmas and we're tired of waiting, and we're sure you are, as well. The good news is that there is a solution!
A new batch of product has been produced and shipped to Walmart stores across the country. We've tested quite a few of the new units and they have all been a success. If you have not installed your strip, simply swap them out at your local store. If you have already installed the strip, purchase a new one at your local store, swap the control units, and return the defective one. The key is that you need to look at the bottom of the box for the new batch number (1929A) and on the control unit for the new batch number (1906).

Jasmine Rose That is a perfectly reasonable reaction. We would feel the same way as well if we hadn't been exposed to the product before the defect. The company is producing a new line, manufactured by a different company right now. We had the opportunity to speak with the team this week and see the new products. They are a far cry from this unfortunate disaster, and the new manufacturer is fully aware of the problems you and so many others have experienced.

Hello, I have a newer version of this called 1932A. I got it at Walmart like 2 days ago. At fIrst the remote was working fine then after a few days it stopped. I tried pairing it multiple times with the high speed button and it still won’t work. Is there any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thank you for this video and for your time looking into this 😁 I actually took mine back today and got a store credit refund. I went back to look for a replacement and they had a small space led kit that came with the strip, remote, and an LED dimmable bulb which only cost like $14.88 instead of 12.88 for just the single strip so I got that instead cuz I figured for $2 more why not.

Can someone help me please. I literally bought the LED strips yesterday and one strip wont respond to the remote. Like everything else responds to the remote besides this. and if it does its super delayed. i moved it around in different areas and still nothing. Is there a way to fix this so both the strips can respond at the same time?

That is a common problem, unfortuantely. There is a big defect with the product. There have been people who say it works if you go through the pairing process, remove the batteries from the remote, and put them back. Others have suggested that holding the remote to the control unit while pairing works. Our recommendation is to try the new SKU instead: bit.ly/MonsterLedStripS

I have 1906 and only been using it for a couple days and I cannot control my led strip. It turns on but I cannot use the remote. I get red ring for each button I press. It would not re-pair. I just popped batteries out and back in. Did the re-pair dance and it works.. no battery change just out and back in. Very odd. We do have a 2.4ghz 5ghz router nearby. Is it possible there is interference as well?

Used this to fix a different type of monster led strips. Colors were reversed but working on a 2nd strip. Red button-blue Blue button- red, etc. Fixed the issue with holding down the brightness/speed button. Thank you!

I have these lights and when I plug them into my outlet it just turns on sky blue *default color* and when I try to turn them red or green or a different color it doesn’t work. I bought the 6.5ft x 3 LED strips in the US last week. I’m back home in Canada trying to set them up, i have tried multiple different sets of batteries and the remote still won’t work. There is no red dot in the middle, which means i obviously can’t pair it. I can’t return this product and i also can’t get a hold of monster to explain what is going on. madison russell If the ring doesn't activate when you press a button, either the battery or the remote control is not working. This is a different issue from normal. We haven't experienced many bad remotes.

I’ve been trying all day to get my lights to work! I have the 1908 remote and the 1931A kit, but the remote just seems useless. The remote is responsive (whenever I touch the remote the center circle glows red) but no matter what solution I try it just won’t work. I got these lights for Christmas from my brother and the remote just isn’t communicating at all with the strip :(

It sounds like there might be another bad batch. Which kit did you get? Does the UPC end in 770098 or is it a different SKU? Also, where are you seeing a batch number on the remote? Ours seem to only have a batch on the box and control unit.

It flashes? We've not encountered that one before. Perhaps the power supply is not giving it enough power. You might also have a short in your cable. Try adjusting the point where the cable enters the control unit and see if the light stays on.

I have a diffrent problem earlier i set them up and asked my brother any color he saud orange so I changed the lights to orange and i came back and to show him and the lights unpluged to I pluged them in backwards once or twicw and got them in right and he had already left so i could fix it and i tried changing the color back to orange because they were blue and i went around the light ring to get orange and it was blue when i got to the bottom it got supper dim and wont change to a diffrent color than blue and ive spent 30 mins or more trying to fix it i read the manual 100 times I checked all the modes at least 5 times and nothing still blue why is this ughhhaaaa al someone help reeeee

looking at this video and comments i thought my lights were defected..when they only reset back to blue when i turn my tv off (since their connected to my tvs usb) and i was thinking i got some bad ones but i’m guessing they just reset back when they turn off. unless there’s a way to “lock” a certain color. but honestly if mine aren’t defected i don’t really mind at all setting my preferred color each time though it does get a bit annoying with the pad trying to get the exact color.

Yes. They ALWAYS power on to the default white (sometimes looks blue to people because it's a really cold white). Besides the defect, it is the most commented on issue with the design. The replacements power back on to the last color state.

The strip does not have a battery, so you will not charge it. They must be plugged in to function.

After a while, the remote stops working and the light in the center of the ring doesn't activate anymore? That's usually an indication of a bad battery. Ours did that earlier in the year when it was time to change the battery.

Randy Florian These sets do not come with batteries in the box. If you found batteries in your box, you might have a returned unit from someone else.

I shook my romote to see if it would work after I shook it and a gold and silver stick thing came out and it won't work

That is everyone's problem, unfortuantely. There is a big defect with the product. There have been people who say it works if you go through the pairing process, remove the batteries from the remote, and put them back. Others have suggested that holding the remote to the control unit while pairing works. Our recommendation is to try the new SKU instead: bit.ly/MonsterLedStripS

I bought 3 of these led strips and all of them are 1915a and the wire thing is also 1905 but I have one working and the other 2 are stuck on the white color

The defect has not been 100%, but it has been a significant percentage. It looks like you got one of the lucky few that worked from 1905.

I bought the one with a bulb and a strip and at first the remote worked with both but i noticed the strip wasnt in sync with the bulb so i unpaired both the strip and the bulb and when i was trying to repair them the bulb worked totally fine but the led strip refuses to repair and i dont know why please help i have no idea what to do

Katie Daniels I bought the same one but my strip didn’t work only my bulb did when I first turned them on. Did your light strip work when you plugged it in? Cuz mine didn’t

@@kimberygarcia4319 yes do the little pins match up where you connect them. Like g with g r with r b with b and +5v with +5v i didnt match them at first but i realized they need flipped

My remote isnt turning on (the red light) I have 1929A (strip) with 1908 (Remote) and 1930A (Strip) with 1908 (Remote). Help! Batteries are also good

Yo-_-Sway So, when you press a button, like the power button, on the remote, the red light in the center of the ring doesn't activate? If that's the case, and your batteries are guaranteed good, that would indicate an issue with the remote itself.

One month with and last night I accidentally pressed the speed button and it was flickering. I thought my was broke. So I threw my remote across the room. Now I found this video definitely helped a lot 🗿✨
