Why not put an anti-acidic soil blend as the bed for cast-iron pipe to give it a long life?

An anti-acidic bed will only stay anti-acidic for a certain length of time before the surrounding soil "soaks" into it- so the soil is at that point an extension of the piping. The best possible solution would be to wrap the piping to extend the life. Great question!!!

aha. Potential employer " So how long and where did you learn plumbing?". Me " State prison, where I was serving a 10 year sentence for stealing tools." haha, just a joke and reminder, that yes I know a that did time, studied plumbing, got licensed and eventually ended up buying the company he worked for! How cool is that?

I started plumbing in October of '94. I went through an apprenticeship here in San Diego where I turned out as the Apprentice of the Year in '99. Immediately after graduating I was asked to instruct. I began instructing in 2000 and also worked in the field as a lead, foreman, and superintendent on large commercial construction projects.
