It's a relief to have the guest interview and Randomiser episode both back in a single block. I can understand the logic of breaking a 50-minute ep into two halves, and have no problem with that; it was only when it was broken into smaller pieces that it became hard to follow. I also like that we get Jamie and Richard's input into the episode as well as Chris' comments.

Great to see a UFO episode on the Randomiser and one of the very best as well. "Cat With Ten Lives" marks the radical change in style in the second block and a superb run of episodes to conclude the show. David Tomblin's writing and direction here and on his two other UFO episodes is exceptional and I feel doesn't get enough recognition. Although this had its first screenings 8.00-9.00pm in the UK it later aired exclusively in late-night slots, sometimes after midnight with perhaps the occult content making this seem unsuitable before the watershed.

Can't beat a bit of UFO great randomiser well the whole pod was a good one much easier to watch than the last few weeks nice work FAB Trio 😎😊😃

"The Cat With Ten Lives" was the last-ever UFO episode repeated by Granada TV on 21st July 1988 from 2.50 to 3.45 - am! Because of its eerie atmosphere it very much suits night-time viewing but maybe not that late!

great direction from David Tomlin and cinematography (Brendan Stafford) look forward to the next podcast.

I've just turned sixty-five... So, you can imagine that I grew-up within both the Andersonsphere and the Roddenberrysphere... More the former during my earlier years and the latter into adulthood... (... Oh... And btw.... My home planet is - Gallifrey ). Had so much enjoyment from these great sci-fi series; all of them - except JOE-90 and Space 1999 - Where doing teen stuff outdoors was more appealing.... Yet - UFO remains for me the pinnacle of the Anderson's work... It was true nail-biting stuff - not quite the hide behind the sofa everytime a Dalek moseyed down a corridor - but a darker - more adult uneasiness - Live actors of course added to this darker style of scriptwriting ... None of which would have made sense in Supermarionation. UFO was also shot close to where I lived at the time (Walton-on-Thames) in Pinewood Studios and at various local locations - Wisley, Oxshot woods, Virginia Water etc... All home stomping turf for me in real-time to the series production. Gold bling and red pressure-suited entities lurking in outbuildings, or the edge of a field, or edge of a forest... The camera work was fantastic... And THOSE EYES.... Behind the green oxyfluid helmet visors.. Yet it was the sound of the UFO in flight that still haunts me - causing the hairs on the nape of my neck to rise - whenever I hear it... One of the most iconic Sci-Fi sound effects ever... And strangely I still feel a sense of unease whenever I happen to be near a pond or lake after dark.... Actually I'm on the fence when it comes to real UFO's, but tend towards them being mostly myth.... At least the ones that are allegedly extra-terrestrial. That said, I have seen twice what I can only categorise as UAP.s

Love this episode😻, Alexis Kanner was great in The Prisoner too... ⛓️ when he did an episode he really 'DID' an episode, iconic in many ways... masterful even 👍🏻👏🏻🙂

I always now think of UFO as a live action, more realistic version of Captain Scarlet. When you think about it, there are far more similarities than differences. There are parallels between Spectrum and SHADO, for example, with the first an overt alien-combatiñg organisation, and the other a more subtle clandestine one. The main difference between the two series structurally is probably that UFO has no equivalent of the Captain Scarlet character, since it tries to be almost real world plausible as a "war of the worlds" plot.

I remember Alexis Kenner in;The cat 🐱 with Ten Lives,in;Ufo.The filming sequence was brilliant!Especially,the kidnap sequence of;Jean and Jim.Of course,Jean ‘get’s it’s from the aliens!And,then,there’s the actress that I really like…..Wanda Ventham as;Colonel Virginia Lake!And,don’t forgot those;Ufo book’s by a Century Twentyone author.✍️

you may remember Geraldine Moffat in Get Carter with Michael Caine, a Kinnear floozy that showed Carter the porno film and ended up drowned in the boot of the sports car. Also she is the mother of Dan and Sam Houser, co-founders of Rockstar Games the home of the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption titles.

That was two weeks ago, and I was a young man.

I have just seen there is a YT channel named Shout! Studios currently live streaming every episode of Captain Scarlet back to back and on repeat. Captain Scarlet overload!!! Bonkers!! Do they need/have permission to do that?? (I have no affiliation with said channel. I am just a viewer and thought I would share and ask the question) I shall get on with watching this weeks Pod now......................
