I think that THE SECRET SERVICE is a very nice, feel-good Anderson series, if your having a bad day or you're just plain miserable, then just put on an episode, and marvel at it's splendour!

Love Secret Service, i remember watching it on Saturday mornings at 10am in the early 1970's. Gutted when it finished and was replaced by Sesame Street. Still has a nice retro feel to this day, its a unique series to be enjoyed as such.

I recall reading in Starlog sci fi magazine yonks ago. Gerry said The Secret Service would have been a big success had it developed. It had the regular Andersonesque hardware- futuristic planes etc.

Hi Jamie, Chris & Richard, thanks for another great Podcast, entertaining as always. Regarding this weeks featured Randomiser episode of The Secret Service. I have never really liked this Anderson show because apart from the mix of live action and puppets, from the very first time I ever saw it I always got the impression that Father Stanley Unwin was actually just Joe 90 having grown old. I never could get into it after that. 😎

Last time I spoke to Christine was at the South Bank Premiere of Filmed In Supermarionation, ten years ago to this date. She was with the lady in the wheelchair- Mrs Shutt, I think?

Space Patrol had incredible models and puppets. It was like a gothic sci fi show in black and white. Dart, Huskey and Slim are strong characters . The sound effects and Theme, if we can call it that, are bizarre. It was per se Gerry's series.

Silly Fun is still Fun, I like the Secret Service more than Supercar, and less than Lavender Castle. The mistakes are all part of the quirky playful nature of the thing.

Do a search for clips of the 1950s tv series WORLD OF GIANTS - you will be surprised at the similarities to THE SECRET SERVICE.

Just to buck the trend of comments on Secret Service on here, I never got it back then, and nothing has changed. I am a bit meh! about it all. Does nothing for me I am afraid. Good that other people enjoy it though, just not my bag.

Christine sadly died in 1999. You’re likely thinking of Mary Turner.
