Great breakdown of the army. I play Barad Dur as my main army in the IHL and have done extremely well with them. I actually run Shelob in a lot of my lists and have even ran her at a 700pt Scouring event in 2019 where I finished 3rd with Barad Dur, with only Sauron's 3 Might. Shelob I think provides an excellent mobile threat and against cavalry armies a mobile hurl can be brutal. She is also a great way of draining heroes Might as they're always at risk to her, especially after a charge near a banner.

Thanks guys I totally forget the fiefdoms army bonus applies to all models, so yes men at arms over axemen! I would like to try Imrahil, but think he needs to be 700+ points to get the most out of him, especially compared to models like Thranduil. I like Hurin and Forlong, and how Hurin's rule works on Forlong. I like the suggestion of 2 bows idea, but would probably go for citadel guard with longbows. If I can get the men at arms, I will try this list out and let you know. I also think Saurons striking spear support rule comes up quite often, especially when your opponent needs to wound or kill him. His terror forces your opponent to spear and pike support if they want to stand a chance

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the list below. It's only theoryhammer at present as I haven't played it yet. I like the idea of getting two lords of the west in the list and there is somewhat of a threat overload present. Gil, Glorf, the kingsguard, and the knights are threatening enough to pull fire from the noldorin exiles. The list is also quite fast with decent fire power, packing in 8 bows and 6 sets of throwing daggers. Gildor will provide a bit of utility with immobilise. 750 exactly Gil galad with horse and shield 12 kingsguard, 6 with shield, 5 with spear and shield, 1 with banner and spear. Glorfindel with armour and asfaloth 4 rivindell knights with shields Gildor inglorion 6 noldoring exiles, 4 with bows and throwing daggers, 2 with throwing daggers and spear. The obvious issue with the list is numbers, they're very low with only 25 models at 750 points. Nevertheless, Gil and glorf should do a lot of work and it will be hard for some lists to shut down both. I like the idea of including them both in particular because Gil can be shut down by sustained magic but Glorf will always be a threat against a list reliant on magic because of unbending resolve. An alternate route is to swap Gildor and the exiles for Cirdan and some more high elves but I think they would provide less flexibility, albeit aura of dismay would be useful with the low numbers. I also think Cirdan would be more susceptible to a bad roll in maelstrom missions and his warband could be picked off easier than the quick moving exiles. Otherwise, I had considered leaving out the third hero and filling out the existing warbands. I could get up to 33 models in the force going that way but I like the idea of the exiles and the utility that warband brings. It's something I will need to playtest once Covid restrictions in the UK allow. Finally, it would be nice to put a shield on the banner bearer but I didn't have the points. I could drop a spear for it but it would leave me with uneven ranks. Any feedback would be appreciated and I hope you enjoy looking at the list.

He had Sauron, the Witch King on Fellbeast and a bunch of Black Numenoreans. The scenario was contest of champions...

Lockdown has inspired me to start a new (almost) all ork army. We had a Great Beast of Gorgoroth rules question regarding Trample which is part of its 8" move. It says Trample causes two Strength 6 hits to models it moves into base contact with. Our question involves when the Beast moves into base contact with more than one model. Does the Beast do two Strength 6 hits to each model? For example, if it moves into base contact with 3 Goblins, will it do 2 hits to each of the 3 Goblins for a total of 6 hits? Or does it do a total of 2 hits and the player can assign the 2 hits to any of the three Goblins? Thanks.

Army list evaluation... I like theme but, within that, putting a viable force on the table top that might win the odd game. I had an idea for a Mordor army for Ardacon 2019 (750 points) but ran out of time. Ardacon 2020 was going to be 600 points so needed to trim. The theme was the eve of Pelennor and Sauron, distrustful as ever, sends his Mouth to check up on Gothmog - so those two should be in the list. I liked the idea of an escort for the Mouth but really apart from those two, everything else is up for discussion. Gothmog with Warg & Shields (145) 6 Morannon Orcs & Shield (48) 6 Morannon Orcs & Spear (48) 1 Morannon Orc & Banner & Shield (33) Mouth with Arm. horse (85) 2 Morgul Knights (36) 3 Morannon Orcs & Shield (24) 2 Morannon Orcs & Spear (16) 1 Morannon Orc & Shield & Spear (9) Guritz (60) 6 Morannon Orcs & Shield (48) 6 Morannon Orcs & Spear (48) Does this work at the likely 600 points for Ardacon 2021 (especially with the Mordor Army Bonus in mind)? Is my Gothmog/Mouth theme not really viable at this lower points level and if so, what other suggestions would you have?

I coached my son in a 700pt tournament where he ran Barad-Dur. While the Orc Captain can be pretty cheap (55pts with Warg and shield), we preferred running a Ringwraith with 2M/8W/1F on a horse for +30 points - got more utility out of the spells than some extra damage from the Captain.

Should I have used trackers or allied in Harad for bows? Should I try and get some cav in? Is the Witch king the right wraith and equipped properly for this list?
