If only other people gave the anime another chance. Because Sun and Moon, as far as I found out, put an end to that trend all together. Pokémon Journeys even more so.

Well as they say you don't get to appreciate things until they're gone. Except not for me because Ash has been shoved in our throats for 25 straight years. Honestly, I'm one of the guys who are glad he finally stepped down. His story has become awfully stale since after DP, which is the perfect time he should have won a league. But nope, let's invent Tobias just as a cheap way to keep the "Ash has to lose because show must go on" formula. His character inconsistencies after that especially his regression in BW just seals the coffin. I mean that season is literal proof why keeping Ash forever is NOT a good thing for the Pokemon anime.

​@@jedidude6358Creating Tobias without any backstory is the worst move in this franchise ever to keep the stagnant old pokemon anime formula were Ash was losing every major Pokemon League. I am also glad that we finnaly got the new protagonist for Pokemon anime.

Yeah, I was getting tired of seeing the old formula over and over again (Ash Ketchum goes to a new region, gets a starter Pokémon, collect 8 gym badges, go to the Pokémon league, and lose on either top 4 or top 8 or top 16. Rinse and repeat on every Pokémon season.) Its like I am getting my mind in a trap of watching Pokémon seeing Ash Ketchum's never ending journey cycle torture. And it doesn't feel good.) So I am happy that they ended Ash Ketchum's story, and having a brand new journey for the new protagonists to take the spotlight. Something that Pokémon anime needs for a long time.

No one is watching it people like you are desperately to praise this garbage.

I did like XY and Journeys… But there’s literally nothing interesting about Ash. Especially when the writers kept him as an oblivious moron throughout the entire show. He learns battle strategies and never use them again. Dude has no unique personalities or traits… They would change the rules of the anime just to make Ash have the spot light and not in the positive way. He should have won the Kalos league. It’s against the rules to use any enhancing device or non participant Pokémon to manipulate an on going battle. Alan cheated. Ash still lost. From the very beginning… they reminded the viewer that the rules states…if someone cheats… the winner is the second trainer in line. Aka ash.

It's a shame that people outside of the US and Japan have to wait such a long time for our weekly pokemon episode. In Journeys it made it almost impossible to care about the series.

As an American, I see change as very dependable on how it's handled. Sometimes, change can be good if things were made for the better or if the change itself has something unique. But at it's worst, it can be done horribly. So much so, the change would not be worth it after all, or you're just too used to what we had before.

The "...too used to what we had before", is what I'm concerned most about. I want this series to be a hit, but I worry that the elder generation of Pokemon, (like myself), will stop watching / not give this series a fair chance. I hope I'm wrong. And I hope that this series does well!

Thanks to Pokespe, Im used to change, i left the anime since Johto season end due to how repetetive it is, This Horizon is refreshing and i think Liko have different dream than Ash is a great start, so we are assured that the story wont be just “becoming Pokemon Masters” anymore

Do you at all realize just how toxic of a statement that is? Taste is subjective and everyone has a right to what it is that they like. Who are you to judge anyone else and try to say that they should just leave. If something about the previous series resonates with someone over what Horizons offers, who cares? Honestly comments like this that’s why I don’t like coming into videos like this. No one should be put down for what they like in a series

Reality would be stated and if you are not mentally capable to handle it then do a favor by not being a burden. We're talking about the toxic Ash simps who are nostalgia-blind and sh*t on pretty much anything that has no Ash ketchum in it. Sure Pokemon horizons isn't like a 10/10 show but I can't help but laugh when they "criticize" it just because their favorite never-aging kid with his yellow rat isn't the protagonist anymore or because it's not like the old "just another team rocket failing to steal Pokemon episode" show.
