Pokémon horizons and the Ash series both have their pros and cons and their own spark. I like them both for their own reasons

that's the eternal question isn't it, why were they afraid to let him go sooner? Granted I do feel that in JN's, it felt like Ash was truly at a level he should rightfully be at when not held back by the reset button he was under before since hoenn, but it still shouldn't have taken that long to get there.

The strange part is that before Ash got a better reputation since his world championship win, people used to clown at him and said he should have been replaced. Remember that backlash at the kalos league? The hate for Ash at that time is so prevalent I barely met any passionate Ash fans who still follow his story. Then again it's the (past) writers' fault for their obsession with the repetitive "reset, get badges, lose league, go to new region, milk Ash cuz he make money, rinse and repeat" status quo which they may have changed up in SM, but once again, it shouldn't have taken that long to give some semblance of story development for the anime. It's honestly baffling that Ash stans tend to overlook the old anime's flaws and have this "old good new bad" fallacy mindset. Right now they're competing with genwunners at who are the most delusional Pokemon "fans".

Not just JN everything definitely the adults I know I would love if ash parents were like liko parents even if they reversed it were ash mom is like liko dad were he has his own Pokémon, a career and friends/colleagues we get to see and ash dad being busy with his work of training students in aura with a blastoise that was his starter which is why ash wanted squirtle first to follow in his footsteps even if we don’t see him till sinnoh and 1 of his old students was Riley would of been awesome. Then you have the adults of the RVT that are the mentors/guardians of the kids like kukui and cerise but they are so much more involved which is just awesome and we get backstory on them.

It’s 1 of 2 reasons they won’t mention or show anyone ash has meet they want to be tight lipped about this being ash universe for some strange reason till they want to bring someone back instead of creating nice little stuff like seeing someone watching ash vs Leon on their phone or have a video of goh showing something he discovered like the mew z crystal or liko watching a contest with may or dawn or dot watching a music video of Serena and lisia idol group etc or this is a AU with no ash/friends and team rocket and they don’t want to show anyone that it is a AU yet by changing something so they are avoiding anything to show that. Basically they want to keep us in limbo on if this is ash universe or a AU probably till around ep 30-50 when someone comes back.

I'm not going to lie, it's a little up there with Ash's Pikachu's backstory but I find this one so much more awe aspiring, relatable, and definitely a lot more cinematic. I think what would have made Ash's Pikachu more compelling is seeing how that Pikachu went from parting from Kangaskhan and being grateful for unconventional family to distrusting humans and under Oak's care.

I kind of don’t want a movie if it’s going to be how ash movies were he doesn’t go back to the movie places or have people from the movies in the main series like Tory becoming a recurring character and even join ash in a tag team match again. Also the AU ash movies should not of been a thing unless it started with the first movie. Ash and goh should of totally went to the tree of beginnings ash for some aura training and goh to learn more about a mew to help find his mew.

Everyone complained about being tired of Ash. By the time Best Wishes came out, the uproar to get rid of him was strong and the veiws were plummeting. They have a goal everyone of the main cast is a treasure hunter at their core the adults are the mentors/guardians like kukui and cerise just more involved they could each get their own treasure or a piece of a bigger treasure later if the writers want that. roy we know exactly what he will be doing going after the ancient pokeballs his final 1 being shiny rayquaza, liko wants to discover the mystery behind her pendant and power it up to stay a Pokémon which her grandma will tell her, my guess it will be collecting all the ancient pokeballs to unlock the memories/strength of the Pokémon or get all the terra type shards or something, dot says she wants a treasure of her own to discover its secrets so she will most likely get 1 later and I think every member of the explorers not the butler will get a treasure/key to unlock gibseon door/seal. Gym leaders or game characters are only there for training, to move the hunt along or for fun which is totally fine want a grusha ep were they are doing a snowboarding race or event.

Easy they want the protags to be kids and new trainers not adults with real strong Pokémon that is why friede is there guardian/mentor
