Given how often pocket aces come in PLO, it's good to study hard on them.

I think it’s wrong to just check fold aces even on the 789 fd flop if you got like 40% of your stack in pre 100bb deep Sometimes aces just play themselves. If you check to to me in that spot and I got the one pair+ 2 pair outs I’m checking behind all day taking my free card hoping to Bink two pair. Also checking behind no pair+ fds.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! appreciate it. What do you think about overall range vs range here. Dont you agree this board is much better for the 3-bet caller than for the 4-bettor who heavily leans towards having AAx. Which makes us jamming bare AA having very low fold equity and very low equity vs stack off ranges. Having someone checking back a one pair holding IP isnt too bad for our bare AAx hand. Also i would say most of our opponents range often will have more than 1p + 2 outs on a board this draw heavy.

Luuk Botter were talking about standard 100bb 4bet situations vs 1 player everyone’s been in when you 4bet aces. Where you 4bet so much of your stack in pre. The spr on flop is always gonna be 1 or smaller. You need 33% vs a players 3bet/call 4bet range to stack off. You can’t just auto give your opponent a J hi rundown when he calls your 4bet. Low stakes People call 4bets with crap they shouldn’t be calling with all the time. Like AKQ9 unsuited to the A.. $ss double pairs. They’ll call kk37$ss. You’re just giving those hands free cards if you don’t just just shove your aces once you got so much in pre, even on 789 flop.

At 11:46 do you suggest check folding here? I couldn't quite make it out here. I haven't ran it through odds oracle but wouldn't check folding boards like this result in the majority of AAxx 3betted OOP C/F ed? I haven't ran it through odds oracle as I'm not on my poker pc but I suspect you'd be doing that at a highly exploitable frequency. That is assuming a very aggressive opponent. Thank you for making this video and looking forward to more in the future.
@LuukBotter86
@LuukBotter86 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mak! These are a check fold yes correct. I see your point, but i wouldnt be too worried about over-folding your Aces. We still c-bet 87% of all our aces (mainly pot) and from the ones we check we are only folding a small portion of them, like the examples shown here that lack in any form off additional equity or backup.

So, you're talking about SPR 0.9 to 0.8. What if we get even lower, to like 0.6 or 0.5. I had an example of a 4-bet AAxx combo. Flop comes QJ9 three hearts. I do not have any hearts, and basically have trashy aces (AA74 or something like that). I decided to check/fold with an SPR of 0.6, but it felt really weird as it felt close. What SPR are you just going with it with AAxx on these connected and "scary" boards?

On the nine 973 flop with aces that you’re Checking what do you do when your opponent bets half pot? Check call shove blank turn? What if he bets 75%+? Do you just fold?

What do you do in a multi way pot?
@LuukBotter86
@LuukBotter86 Жыл бұрын
Hey Benny, unfortunately there is no straightforward answer to this questions. It depends on too many paramenters like board texture, stacksize, position and more. I will think about a video about this topic and see if there is something I can share!

Hi Luuk, about the 4b pot scenario. . . . im currently playing plo5 and plo10, and there are a fair amount of players who will 3B and call 4B with very trashy disconnected hands. how would you adjust when playing in pools when there are enough of these players to have to change the flop strategy? for example, if you check, these players will always jam and if we're folding a big chunk of our AA range, that would make 4 betting AA somewhat of a -ev play wouldn't it? would it be terrible to always jam the flop in this instance?
@LuukBotter86
@LuukBotter86 3 жыл бұрын
You should always think about your opponents range and how you expect this to interact with the board texture. If you assume your opponent has a very weak range that doesnt connect to the board that much, even if the board isnt great for your AA heavy range, than yes, you do want to stack of more often. We cant follow GTO always. These are general concepts and ideas on how to start playing the spot better, but it doesnt mean this is the answer in every spot.
