This video shows one way to sync carbs on a snowmobile... there are many and possibly better ways to do this. This is one way to get things pretty close!!! Hope it works for you!

Thanks for the video. In the future, remember that some people like me have an extremely hard time following a conversation with music playing.

The sheer amount of music contrast in the video is amazing, one moment rap and cussing next Xmas music 😂😂 great vid tho

Long story short, copywrite claims found around Christmas time leading me to remove the songs from the clips which also removed my voice which was all replaced with Christmas music because it's more awkward with just moments of complete silence.

Hi Brap: I assembled 2000 Scrambler 400 today, started, runs great, did a test run about 300 yards, then seems pto side crank seal blown, with steam puffing out. What could be the cause? I put the piston arrow pointing to stator side, wrong way?

Don’t forget to check/time your oil pump after adjusting throttle cables. Thanks for the vid!
@BrapStuff2 жыл бұрын
Yeah always good to make sure that’s working and adjusted correctly too!

How would I check my oil pump cable?
@BlueBloodCstm Жыл бұрын
@@mikeharmon8733 there’s timing marks on the lever arm where the cable connects to. The little hashes have to line up with each other at the correct time. If they don’t, too little or too much oil will flow. You can KZfaq search this process.

Working on my '93 Indy 440 now. What is the third cable on the throttle cable control? It doesn't even move what it's connected to under the carbs on the bottom of the engine. Thx

2 for throttle slides, 1 for oil pump

What about the air intake?? Im still tryna figure it out
@SkeetnCheech6 ай бұрын
What rpm do you like for idle? It seems like if I set idle to around 1600 rpm, it bogs before it takes off.
@BrapStuff6 ай бұрын
I like really low idles with all my stuff. I know other people who set them pretty high too.
@daveg21992 жыл бұрын
I’ve tried this at least a dozen times but my idle wont come down off 3100 rpms. Even with the idle screws out all the way. Im going nuts trying to figure this out. We can ride it all day like this but it’s annoying. I checked for air leaks at all the boots etc and even the crank seal. Nothing shows up bad. Brand new throttle cable didn’t help either. Any advice would be great. 1999 Indy 500

You need to drop your main jet needle one slot at a time until you can set idle. When e-clip is too low on the needle the gap between needle and seat is too large and therefore too rich.
@daveg2199 Жыл бұрын
@@mikeharmon8733 thank you! Ill do that.

You can experience surging if the throttles aren’t closely synced enough. Also, it could be running lean. Get a manual and make sure everything is set according to manufacturer specs. Clean carbs well, idle screws set proper, throttle cables and choke cables set right… then get a vacuum sync tool and set your carbs.

I got 2000 ZL550 with VM38's It hangs @ 2500rpm for several seconds, Then drops to 1500. I hope I got cable/s on the ragged edge of too tight, last time. We will see. (Hope it's not crank seal/s) THANKS for video

what are the sizes of drill bits like 1/2 in or 1/4
@BrapStuff Жыл бұрын
It's all explained in the video.
@mikeharmon8733 Жыл бұрын
Looking at a drill chart, the 0.183 is about a #14 and the 0.213 is a #3. From watching the video, it looks like these steps with these drills diameters will get you real close to where you want to be then you do minor idle screw adjustments to dial it in. Idle isn't as critical as the slide synch. This video is great from junk I've seen out there.
@911axe Жыл бұрын
@@BrapStuff you stated a .183 for one and 1/4 for the other. The amount of time it took to respond with your "it's in the video" comment, you could have just gave the fractional number. I believe that is what the person was asking. To know the bit without having to do calculations. Ok, so I don't have to do the calculations or search it up, what fraction does the .183 correspond to?
@BrapStuff Жыл бұрын
This isn’t really an exact science and anything will work. I am showing what I used and it worked good enough. As for the .183, something close to 3/16 is ok.
