Here's what the witness shared with the police. The male tried to bite one of the officers and kept escalating the situation. While being transported to the jail, the male started rapping. The male was charged with assault, resisting arrest, unlawful restraint and aggravated assault.

No, it's likely due to being young, naive, and not sure how to react to a situation that is completely outside of her realm of reality. Many young women will smile and laugh in situations in which they are not sure how to respond or in which they are uncomfortable. I've seen it many times...it doesn't mean that much.

If I was that cop, as soon as she told me there was blood in her mouth, I would have stopped questioning and took her to the hospital immediately. Cops are supposed to serve and protect.
