In this video, I share one of my favorite cake recipes. This cake has a super fluffy sponge cake with added poppy seeds, a sour cherry filling, and some delicate whipped cream. The Marzipan on top doesn't just look gorgeous it also adds so much flavor and is my favorite bite of this cake! There are so many ways you can decorate and fill this cake so be sure to give it a try.

Poppy Seed Sponge:
4 room-temperature eggs
125 grams sugar
1 pinch salt
1 splash vanilla extract
125 grams flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
25 grams poppy seeds
Cherry Filling:
1 glass sour pitted cherries
30 grams sugar
1 pinch salt
30 grams cornstarch
Juice of 1 lemon
Cream Filling:
500 ml heavy whipping cream
30 grams sugar
1 splash vanilla extract
Decor:
100-300 grams Marzipan
100 grams grated chocolate
Some whipped cream
Cherries
