What size eggs do you use please …. loved the way how you went on to explain in detail …. very useful for a beginner

I get my eggs from a family friend that has chickens so they are all different sizes. When I bake my sponge cakes I try to use the medium-large eggs. But sometimes when I find the eggs to be quite small I’ll use an extra egg to get roughly the same amount as I would using large eggs. If you want you can also try weighing out your eggs and see if there’s an optimal amount that works for you. I’d also recommend just using whatever size eggs you have and then adding the flour/baking powder in 2-3 batches, that way you don’t have to use all the dry ingredients if you think it’s too much for the amount of whisked eggs you have. Any leftover flour you can save for the next sponge cake or any other recipe. Hope that helps :)

How did it taste? Still very sweet? I made pavlova yesterday and it was way too sweet, ie 6 egg whites with 330g castor sugar 😵‍💫. looking for a much reduced sugar recipe.

It was still pretty sweet for my taste at least. I think I’m overall just not a huge fan of pavlovas to be honest.

I tried to bake a black forest cake for my birthday. It was a disaster 😆I didn't use this recipe 😊 But Arla whipping cream sabotaged me again 😂😭 Now my "black forest cake" has no frosting. It has to make do 🥹❤️😆

I use a Wilton 2105-6105 tin which is 8 inches and 3 inches deep. Hope that helps 😊

There is a European Market & Produce store near where I live that carries a bunch of canned fruit and jams. They are definitely a bit tricky to find in Canada though.

Hi Lotta, love your videos! Just wondering about this sourdough rye and if I need to add the seeds? Or can I follow your recipe and just leave the seeds out?

You don’t have to add the seeds! If you don’t add the seeds your dough will probably just have a bit of a higher hydration since the seeds aren’t soaking up part of the water.
