I agree. I'm sure it adds to the trauma and is frightening. I sat on a jury for a csa case and the little girl victim had to testify in front of her abuser and we had to recess several times because she couldn't even begin to speak without crying. All of us jurors were crying. It was awful seeing her struggle like that. A deputy in the courtroom gave her his badge to hold for comfort while she testified and it worked.

The court she is going thru is in WI also, but not where they’re & the court system there wouldn’t do anything to him & she had 5 lawyers & none of them would do their job for her. Her daughter is scared of him & doesn’t want to see him & wants her mom to get full custody & she can’t get it at all, bc no matter if they’re abusive they say that the kids need to have there dad in there lives, but not if the kid doesn’t want to see him & she has expressed it to the GAL & they wouldn’t let her speak or listen to what her mom said she wanted, it is just disgusting how it turned to make her mom look bad & theres been 22 other women or more now that have been thru the same situation & went up together to get something done to this court system but no one will help them so sad,

There’s a simple fix for this. Remove the minor child, allow her to testify from a nearby courtroom via video and be done with it. Darrell Brooks was removed multiple times as he was a disruption and was STILL allowed the opportunity to participate. This borders on abuse and manipulation of that child, only furthering her trauma. If we give these rights to convicted murderers as they did with Brooks, then the law should absolutely allow it for a minor child who is just a victim in all of this. Horrendous.

they didn't. The State did. The Defence was just forced to ask on re-cross more questions about where she saw the gun and then had to ask a further question when the daughter said it was at his home. It was when the Judge and the Defence tried to calm her down when she said it had nothing to do with this case that she decided to throw a strop and shout out that someone threatened her with the gun. She never even said it was her dad or what the threat was. it was then she was removed from the court to speak with an attorney.
