Keep updating if you can. Im hoping to get my date soon, my mother in law is funding my surgery, im having RNY (bypass). Surgeon have me penciled in his book for 4th August. Crossing fingers. Hubbys phoning his mum tomorrow to find out more from her. Then we can proceed.

Those tortilla bowls look super yummy!! I love shrimp! I enjoy fruit a lot, but I have a hard time eating them before they go bad. Frozen grapes are super yummy tho!

I love tuna and instead of mayo I make like a little quac n use that in place of mayo it’s super delicious. Costco is calling my name now :)

Yes! Vlasic Kosher dill pickles are the best! I have them sometimes with my protein chicken or turkey burgers. I season the burgers with sea salt, onion powder & pepper tastes delicious 😋

How did the Banza pasta taste or do you have a better alternative for your pasta salad? I am a pasta lover and just had my surgery a week ago, I'm worried I will never enjoy pasta again.

Tiffany Mc I’ll be honest, pasta fills you fast. With Banaza it wasn’t my favorite but I’m not a huge pasta eater. I don’t think it was bad at all- I just like the pasta that’s more bad for you, unfortunately. I think ultimately it was a good substitute.

Andrea Flowers oddly enough, no. In fact, when I eat lettuce I actually can eat more. It doesn’t fill me like other foods and it’s not dense or heavy. I haven’t noticed a problem.

@@GinaMarieUT I'm still learning what I can and can't eat but lettuce is on the top of the "don't eat in public list". I love salads but I only eat them at home and my family groans every time.

Crystal St Louis I did. It was pretty significant but I didn’t go bald. I’m slowly getting it back though. I would do it all over again if I had the choice.

Since you digest completely different ( im a gastric bypass patient) I have a question and I hope u dont feel offended by it... but why are you so harsh on urself with the calories? a meal with 200 calories like the salad isnt really that much is it? if you have 5 meals that add up to about 1500 - 2000 caloires that wont make u gain weight right?

SurvivorDietLady You know, I think I’m just trying to do the best that I can in any way I know how. I think we are all harsh on ourselves and want the best for ourselves too. I’m not offended at all. You can ask me anything. For the longest time, any food at all made me feel like I would gain weight. I’m trying to focus on protein and on the side watch my calories. It’s a constant struggle. A mental one too- sometimes.

Gina Marie i totally get it... i have been on my first diet when 5 years old and have been thru them all. Ive also been on the bloodgroup diet two years and weightwatchers n so on. I been to gym as well and as a kid always in gymnastics but developed a bad eating disorder... switching between bingeeating and anorexia-behaviour not eatin for weeks.... i had the gastric bypass and im jus so scared that if i get the ds i will still have those issues. So far all psychologists couldnt help me as well.... so im thinkin do i deserve the ds? Will it be a good tool? Will it keep my weight off if im doin well lets say 80% of the time? On october 5 ill have a talk again with the surgeon and doctor and a decision will be made. I jus really need to get better at taking my vitamins😫 but do u still feel like ur dieting or do u get full fast?

SurvivorDietLady you know- I do not feel like I’m dieting. I try to give myself what I want but I always try to eat good things first- so if I do fill up it’s on good stuff first. That’s my motto- although I’m not perfect at it- it helps with my Psyche. I do fill up faster than I used to and I notice that sometimes it’s an oral thing for me too where I just want something to chew or to suck on in my mouth- so I suck on candies or chew gum and things. I know that’s not the best but I seriously try to figure out just what it is that I really need and what the root of it is. I had the loop /Sadi DS- so not the old regular DS, if that helps. I definitely get fuller faster than I used to but I feel like I’m constantly battling with trying to make good decisions and just trying each day to be better. It’s a mind eff for sure.

My surgeon says that there really isn't 30g of protein in premier protein because protein starts breaking down 30 minutes after it's made. He said premier protein now has a huge law suit against them now for claiming to have that much protein in their shakes. Sad cause I loooove those shakes.
