Dr. Berg discusses potassium and the importance of this electrolyte. Your heart, your fluid, your energy, and your nutrients in and out of the cell is dependent on the sodium and potassium pump. However, potassium is the most difficult to get from the diet. High levels of cortisol (stress), insulin, sugar, diuretics, excessive salt, and surgery, all can deplete potassium. However, you need between 7-10 cups of salad or veggies to get your daily requirement of 4700mg.

I have battled Afib for 13 years and not one doctor mentioned checking to see what my potassium level was. I started watching your videos and it made me question why no doctor G.P. or Cardiologist had mentioned this. I also struggled with high blood pressure as well as constipation. I was told that I needed to drink a lot more water so I started drinking close to 100 ounces a day. It didn't help. I found a new doctor when I moved to Texas and I asked for a full blood test. Guess what the blood test revealed? Low potassium. I went on a high dosage potassium prescription and much to my surprise my Afib disappeared along with the high blood pressure and constipation. Turns out all of the water was flushing the potassium out of my system. Had it not been for your videos I would still have the issues that I had. I'm now eating as many high potassium foods as I can find along with taking a potassium supplement. Thank you Dr. Berg for changing my life for the better. Cheers!

After about a year being a fan of this man (the man!), Jason Fung, Malcolm Kenderick, Ken Berry, Mason Paul, and Norman Norawi (Malaysia), and series of nephro appointments, everything changed. The same nephro declared that my dad has no need to comeback to her clinic. His creatinine reading is getting better every time. Someone need to redefine noble prize let this man on the stage for it. Ended up in the E.R. with severe back pain, which to begin with I thought it was just back pain and did everything I knew to do only for the pain to increase in intensity and move to my abdomen. I have severe anxiety, depression and insomnia!! I was completely blown away when the doc came in and said I was low in potassium. If course I have to follow up with my G.I doc because I also have had digestive issues all my life. They did give me some potassium while I was there which helped a great deal. So I immediately came home and started a search for more info on the topic. Thanks, now I'm watching a lot more of your videos. You always help. Thank you Dr Berg, there are so many elderly in nursing homes dying from electrolyte deficiencies. I don’t understand why it’s not mandatory for elderly to get electrolytes. The medications they are on are depleting some minerals, and I see residents cramping up in agony every day , so what does the in home doctor do, he puts them on Endone for pain, and drugs them to the point of not eating and not being able to drink. Hence they are dying at a fast pace. Plus the staff don’t understand how important it is to give fluids throughput the day every couple of hours. I saved my Uncle he is now on electrolytes and supplements but I had to fight for it for months. It’s so frustrating for me to see the system fail these wonderful elderly. And the staff say it is ageing, they really believe its natural ageing, and not neglect.

The people who run nursing homes know that every time someone passes away, it makes way for someone new and with every new person entering a lot of money is made. They are not interested in extending peoples lives as it is not in their financial interests to do so. The doctors would also be in on the idea of speeding up their expiration date as they would be making a bonus. I new a lady who was put in a nursing home and apparently 10 years is the maximum time they give people to pass away. She lived longer and they did terrible things to speed up her death until her family realized and finally got her out of there. Your Uncle is very lucky to have you.

Like I say, if people don't believe him, try it out. Follow it by the book and don't cheat and see what the result is. I stopped drinking cokes and as much bread and sweets (although I've never liked sweets alot)I started keto about two weeks ago to see what it'd do. In the last 6 months I've gone from weighing 328 lbs to 296lbs. I'm going to keep doing keto , although I still have some areas to clean up , and them I'm going to my my vitals tested again. I feel alot better. I have more energy , I don't get hungry as often, I don't have chest pain around the heart area and rarely any numbness. I can tell if I have carbs that are bad, like fried chicken breading , makes me feel like somebody hit me with a bat. I eat my veggies more. I have been eating a few tablespoons of almond butter before meals and it makes me less hungry and I stay satiated and I can go longer without eating , that way my body burns my fat. Try things out for yourself , don't take anyone's word as 100% truth. Always test things and see what works for you and what keeps you healthy

You know, this is the second video I’ve watched (having some beer at the end of a long week, and it’s Monday of the next week:) and I find this to be rather enjoyable, informative and motivating. I’m going to begin to carefully apply what I’ve been learning on your videos to my eating habits. Keep up the good work from a new fan.

In 2023, I ended up in ICU because of septic infection. After few days they try to move me in regular room, but my blood pressure drop to dangerous levels and it wasn’t stabilizing without support. Later they find out that the reason that was happening was because I was depleted of potassium in my system. I was having all symptoms you describe for many years, none of the doctors diagnosed my symptoms correctly. In fact, one doctor literally told me that all that symptoms aren’t really real, that my symptoms are result of depression. I was diagnosed with depression at the time, and depression was trigger by all physical symptoms I was having not the other way around.

The VERY BEST dr ever ! He teaches so beautifully. Am so grateful for his videos. I feel like a real proper medical student. The general public MUST be educated on what is physically keeping them together! No one ever educated the public on how their bodies function...and what diets give the nutrients to sustain good health. The way he explains stuff is just wonderful...everything is understood. Dr Berg I wish I could meet you in person one day. You are one of the RARE true drs in the world today. Tons of good wishes to you and loved ones. The problem is doc ...the hard core truth is that ppl cant afford to truly keep themselves healthy. Inflation, recession, poor income.. now no income🤭 How is it possible to stay healthy...and even if one could afford the stuff ..because you need suplements and this and that apart from all the other things ...juices fruits... so even if one could afford the materials ...most of it is poisoned! One has to work on growing ones own food stuff. How does one get away from GMOs? Today ...labels are untrustworthy. Who is really accountable for the actual content. One doesnt have access to test the stuff we buy right. And many things are managed through the food regulatory systems too. So it is vital to start growing our own organic foodstuff. That's a whole other issue!😁 But having said the above .. I love ❤ your videos and the content you share. Looking forward to all of them. Gratitude .🙏

@@TheSweetalchemist You call yourself "Sweet" but you are not really sweet and disrespect other believes so i'm doubting about the other half "scientist" ... There are a lot of scientists believe in something that in control of this whole existence some people call it god others call it nature ... isaac newton for example in his whole life and discoveries one of his main goals was trying to to tell people that God does exist ... One of his quotes : "in the absence of any other proof, the thumb alone would convince me of God's existence" The simple thumb alone was enough for isaac newton. but human today saw all the wonders of the world and discoveries of his complicated body systems (i.e. how potassium work in human body in this video) but human not only doubting but also laughing and disrespect other believes ...
