There are places, in every country, where the same amount of money just goes a lot longer. Also, are you looking at annuity or drawdown? I don't plan to leave anything after me. So, I can just chomp pieces of my fund, not just rely on yields from that fund. My numbers, specifically, ask for GBP 750,000 and I could retire there and then. I could probably reduce these numbers with Equity Release (selling the house I live in)

In this manner, your initial stop loss is still a respectable one. However, if you trade micros or with minimal leverage, you might as well start at "full size."
