Great to see this. I have the Dell hub for my work laptop. But was thinking of moving to M1 Mac air or mini. So was good to know it’s an easy / compatible hub that’s already in place. Cheers

hey there, only HDMI connectors are working for me....how did you get the DP ports to display the Macbook signal on the DELL monitors? I have a D6000 though, not sure if that makes a difference.

Hello there! My monitors have HDMI ports and not Display Ports. If I buy an HDMI-DP cable, or use an adapter on my HDMI cable which transforms one end to a Display Port, and I use it this way, should it interfere with anything? Would it still charge my laptop and share the video? Or do I have to change to monitors with Display Ports? Thank you in advance!

My macbook is a bit of an older one, with thunderbolts x2 next to each other and all together next to the charging port, 2x USB 1 x HDMI. How can i connect it to a dell dock that has USB C lead? and what functionality i can still retain? Maybe charging wont be possible but projecting at 2 screens via the dock and having mouse and keyboard through the hub is what i would like to have as minimum, any opinion?

Hi, just got the WD19TB dock. May I know how much power your Mac is pulling from the dock? Mine is a Macbook Pro M1 and pulling-in 90 watts. I'm not sure if this will hurt the Mac because for what I know, it's supposed to only receive a maximum of 60W. I know the machine is supposed to pull-in only the required amount it needs to but I can't find an official document indicating that the 2020 MBP can receive 90 watts of power. Btw, I've also been using all the ports and this really turns the Mac into a beast. No compatibility issues whatsoever especially that Apple has certified the WD19 lineup and WD22 docks. Hurray

Hey dude, great video. Just one question, I'm in the market for a dock like this but I'm worried that it'll ruin my laptop battery having power plugged into it all day everday. Is it fine to have it plugged in all the time? For reference, I have the surface laptop 3.

Well I know that most new computers won’t be ruined if it’s plugged in all the time. Like the new MacBooks I believe from 2015 and on you can leave them plugged in all the time and Will not ruin the battery. But I’m not sure about the surface laptops.

My MacBook Pro is a 15 inch 2017, and I believe the maximum Hz is 75 Hz but my Monitor right now can only do 60 Hz so I’m not 100% sure if It can do more than 60 Hz.

I have the 16 in MacBook Pro 2019, but I’d really recommend getting the new MacBook M1, only reason I didn’t get it is because it’s only the 13 inch.

Honestly I don’t know too much about the iPad Pro and if it would work with the hub. I would expect that the charging capability of the hub and USB ports would work fine but I’m not sure about the DP ports and HDMI port if those would work with the iPad Pro. I’ll do some looking around and see if I can find anything. Thanks for your comment.

Not the way you’d expect . There is a big problem with using dell’s docking station with Macs: IT DOES NOT SUPPORT EXTENDING THE SCREEN AREA!!! Which basically means that you will have the same image on all screens! 🤦🏻‍♂️👎😑

Just got one today. I am using it on Surface Pro 7, first time it charged it up to 100% then it stopped, and started draining the battery! So the Q is when you plug the USB Type C into your computer does the docking station keeps the battery level at 100% all the time? TIA

I have the same Dell docking station for my Dell and use it privately for my MacBook Pro as well with 2 external displays. The problem is that the Mac doesn’t recognize the 2nd external screen with this docking station. The 2nd screen only mirrored the 1st screen, which is unstable for me.
