Ali, you’re my favorite channel to watch concerning these magical meds. Thank you so much for your info. I’m finding it harder to watch creators without feeling like I’m just there to be sold something. I don’t need a sales pitch. None of us do. So, thank you for being you.

YES! I had to stop watching one YTer because her videos were constant selling things. It was like watching QVC! I really enjoy the insights and practical advice on this channel the most.

Once again it’s about how your past emotions affects your future thoughts of yourself. Please people, intentions aren’t in your control. Love yourself finally!!!!! I feel this gift is to make us better people not needy people who need the worlds okay. You can’t make everyone happy. Make yourself so proud, it doesn’t matter what others think. Dont let the world steal your joy!!! Enjoy it!!! B

Wow this was amazing advice! I will definitely be practicing this … I feel so awkward when people ask me about my weight loss … after being so angry no one was noticing it for so long 😅

Lots of food for thought, thank you. People forget that there are myriad of reasons why people lose weight and they are not always positive (ED, chemo, health issue). There are also many reasons why people have gained weight, some including wanting not to be seen (subconsciously), so feeling more visible due to weight loss can be very triggering and dealing with comments about the loss can trigger unhealthy things later, particularly if connect to SA. I’m at the very start of this journey but have honestly been traumatized by my previous weight loss/gain and all the things people said to me about the loss in general, or worse, about specific body parts. I’m working on it with my therapist but it’s hard and anxiety producing, particularly knowing what might/will likely come as things progress. My first thought was to be defensive, to protect myself completely so that people will hesitate to ever bring it up again, but the thing about people loving drama is something to ponder, and I am aware that they’re generally coming from a good place. Thanks for this.❤

I tell them that they are imagining things. Everyone in my group tell me everything I eat is wrong. I have learned that what I do is working for me and to heck with what they say. Some of the foods I eat you have recommended and they have worked great for me. (Fairlife and Ghost Vegan Chocolate.). For those who are experiencing what I experience, let it roll off and be proud of the changes you are making for yourself. Ali, you have the best channel! Down 31 lb in 5 months and going broke buying new clothes. lol!

I love the “changing the subject” tactic! That is genius. Also, I agree with @shewygirl… I hate it when people say, “Keep at it!” One time (one of MANY times), I lost 100 lbs and was feeling (and looking) fantastic. Yet, someone told me to keep going. WTF? Thanks for the great idea to co from the weight conversation!

Timely topic for me. I've lost weight but because no one in my family acknowledged any change in my appearance I began to doubt myself. Fortunately my spouse is very supportive and complimentary and encouraging. And that's the only person whose opinion (besides my doctor) that really matters. It's a very personal and sensitive topic and too much commentary is distracting.

Great advice as always! I am an extrovert but right on the cusp. Typically, I am an open book and tend to overshare anyway. I'm finding that boundaries are something I really need to cultivate for my sanity through this process. Sometimes, I just respond with the 'O o o Ozempic' song. I can't tell you how many times it lead to conversations with folks that are genuinely interested in weight loss medications that are too scared to ask their doctor. Again, I need to stop for my sanity because it is ok to have boundaries. Which I'm learning through therapy. That said, I would get a kick out of people asking me if I was pregnant when I gained weight. I kinda enjoyed how uncomfortable and apologetic they would get when I responded with 'No, I've just gained some weight'.

Hi Ali! I am finally down 20 lbs since starting my journey in January, I am a very slow loser. No one has said anything about my weight loss (LOL!!!) Of course I still need to lose about 60 more lbs!!!! In all honesty, I despise when people comment on my weight (good or bad). Thanks for your advice. Love your channel soooo much!!!

A couple of co-workers said they were worried about me. Pressured me to not lose weight while those people had fatty liver, heart, smoking and hormone issues they refused to address. One of them was even a lead RD against GLP-1. In the past of course no one was concerned about me gaining 60 pounds in a year.

I hate the “keep at it” or “keep going” comment… that urks me sooooo much lol. What if you’re happy where you’re at especially after massive loss already. I feel many dont know what to say so eithey they dont say anything or they say the wrong things 🤪

Excellent Video. I think everyone likes to be told you look great keep it up . I know I do and you are right now days a lot of people don't say anything because of how the climate has changed but like you said I am doing this for me not them. I tell anyone and everyone what I am doing and what I am on. My Facebook friends who I don't see everyday I have not brought up my weight loss because I have Yoyo dieted so much in the past at least 3 times I have lost 100lbs + and gained it all back Plus more. That now I feel like the boy who cried wolf and they are going to think well he i Can't blame them for thinking that as I think it too. That is why I plan an taking some amount of this medication for the rest of my life.

People will use your weight loss journey as a way to project their feelings onto it. It’s almost never helpful.

Love the topic! People are noticing my weight loss, and the one comment I received you have lost weight, are you using one of those drugs? It was how she said it, and i immediately lied and said no. Said I was seeing a nutritionist and excerising.

No I think it just depends on personal experience. Some have trams surrounding their weight so it can be triggering to talk to others.
