Only side effect i get is heartburn and i get it during the night when im sleeping on the first night. I take my shots on Tuesdays at 9am. Should i change the timing on when i take it to avoid the heartburn that first night because thats the only time it happens. The rest of the days and nights im fine.

A big additional thing to mention when talking about switching between semaglutide and tirzepatide is… many ppl who’ve been on both report that the appetite suppression feels DIFFERENT between the two meds. 💡 On Tirzepatide, the ‘food noise’ seems turned down more than compared to Sema. You’re not thinking about food all the time as much. Tirz seems to be very much ‘of the brain’. 🧠 Though you definitely do get all the ‘stomach stuff’… you feel full more quickly when eating, and you have slower gastric emptying. And that ‘stomach stuff’ seems to be where Sema shines. You may think about food more, you are kinda hungry sometimes… but when you sit down to *eat,* the fullness comes on quite strongly, perhaps stronger than Tirz (though everybody’s different, and YMMV). These kinds of distinctions may be especially important for folks with certain kinds of eating disorders. Excessive ‘food noise’, for instance, may panic or trigger you. 😢

You are the best. I appreciate your style and excellent communication skills I’ve been on the medication for one year and have lost almost 70 lbs My goal is around 10 lbs more but I’ll decide when I get there My question is once I reach goal and all my labs are normal, will the insurance company still pay for it? I plan to take it forever for maintenance Thanks for all you do!

A couple of co-workers said they were worried about me. Pressured me to not lose weight while those people had fatty liver, heart, smoking and hormone issues they refused to address. One of them was even a lead RD against GLP-1. In the past of course no one was concerned about me gaining 60 pounds in a year.

I have a hard time with beans. I am almost on a carnivore diet. Lots of whole milk good quality cheese, pork, steak and seafood. I do have a small apple daily. I cut out protein shakes. So so weird that this finally fixed my bowel habits. I feel amazing and my labs are fixed.

Hey Allie My switch from Ozempic after 3 to mounjaro 5 was life changing! No side effects no food noise. My weightloss went to 2 pounds at first and now at 1pound a week after 8 months. 8 pounds from gw of 116. I'm 5'2 so that's cool.

I was on Wegovy was very nauseous. Zepbound now and I have few side effects maybe muscle aches. I’m still at 2.5 starting does. Down 15 pounds in 40 days but I can gain 5 pounds easy if I eat poorly. So I need to work with the medicine.

Thanks those are some good highlights and just like many other meds when you change rx your body has to adapt to a new system and you judge the reaction and adjust dosage like you pointed out.

Ali, my husband is on Mounjaro 5.0 and this is his first injection. He took it on Sunday night, and for the past two days he has been really sick. Yesterday was terrible nausea, today is terrible diarrhea. I really feel sorry for him. He is ready to quit completely. The 2.5 has worked for him for a long time, but it stopped being effective. I encourage hydration, which he has done, but I don’t know if he can keep going. Any tips?

I will make a video to respond: in the meantime I recommend protein shakes, get out ahead of the nausea, hydration with electrolytes, anti diarrhea meds.

I lost over 70# on Mounjaro but now the prior auth is not getting done. I am now gaining back the weight. I have a commercial plan and paid $550 for my last box of Mounjaro 15mg.. so is paying 550 for 60mg total a good price??

I started on Monday. It doesn't really hit me until 24-36 hours after the shot. Initially, Monday worked well for me because I work from home and any GI issues are always better at home. The problem I found is that once I get used to the dose my appetite suppression really starts reducing 1-2 days before my next shot. The weekends have always been my binge days in the past and it made it really harder to eat healthy. Now I do Wednesday and it gives me the heaviest appetite suppression on the weekend, which is when I really need it. I think this is gonna be my schedule from here on out. 🙂

I have had very minimal side effects. I’m on 12.5mg now. I take my shots on Tuesdays since it’s best for my lifestyle and I can do concessions, restaurants, barbecues, etc on weekends. I WFH, so it’s easier to control what I eat on Mondays (my hungriest day).

I take mine on Mondays . I cant tell you how many diets i started on Monday. I am sure the Saturday and Sunday before I treated as Mardi Gras LOL. I like Mondays I get a fresh start every week and it keeps me focused. I am lucky have had minimal side effects . I work for myself so i work all all hours of day and night including weekends . I still get a nap in most days so that helps me. I know a lot of people like Fridays because weekends are the hardest for them which make good sense.

I did noticed where I take my shot makes a difference like abdomen vs thigh. My problem is eating I'm at the low dose. Nothing sounds good oh except watermelon or organic peanut butter that's jupeanuts grinder to peanut butter nothing else added. I'm trying g the protein shakes . And I'm not really losing weight😢

You definitely need to eat in order to lose weight. It will be trial and error on what will taste good to you. Weirdly for me it was salad and Sam’s Club rotisserie chicken and I have been eating that practically every day for lunch for 11 months now, and I still love it. Previously, I was not a big salad person.

I am entering week 4 and location of the injection has made a world of difference. When I use my thigh I have zero side effects. When I use abdomen I have nausea. I lost a lot of water weight the first week, but now starting week 4 I have gained 2 lbs. So my overall loss is 2 lbs. Nothing significant yet.

I feel for spouses who can not share this journey either their significant other. Be safe!

I am not telling anyone as of now...my spouse is naturalist..he believes in herb..and doesn't really adhere to western meds. Now, I communicate that im on a high protein diet..after watching these videos on side effects..I try to eat careful as possible. I am explaining in small dose...I have pcos, along with obstructive sleep apnea..explaining that it harder for me to lose weight..i explained the food noise...I really have to slow walk him..if you know your partner..you have to how to read the room. I have food allergies so..that is a plus because he knows if I eats the wrong thing i get sick...he has just noticed my 15lb weight loss this morning..i find it amazing that this is your topic. I will eventually tell him..but right now..I will continue educating him on obesity and eating disorders..BTW I am explaining this to my other family members as well. My husband would have tried to talk me out of it...he would blame the drug if i sneezed🙄 If i had crazy side affects that were to unbearable..I would tell him. Right now..im ok ..knock on wood 🪵

I didn't tell my husband until I had the prescription in hand. I just knew if I told him before I got the meds, he would try to talk me out of taking them. To be clear, he is a sounding board and not my boss! He couldn't be mad when I told him but had several concerns about the long term effects of GLP1s. Now every time there is some article about the bad effects of GLP1s, he brings it up. Every time I complain about any physical ailment, like fatigue or ingestion, it has to be the meds. It's obviously in our refrigerator which he can see it but I do leave the room to do my injections. My husband is a worrywart and that can be a hassle but you gotta tell the other adult people in your household. So, I get not wanting any pushback. But that just seems like a lot of effort to keep secret when you live in the same household.

Can you, please please please. Talk about the Glp-1 medications stigma and shaming? I work at the hospital as a PCT and I told a doctor who I was covering that I’m taking mounjaro, and she said you should not lose weight because of the loose skin you would look better being overweight with no loose skin than be skinny with loose skin :/!! She also was rambling and saying that everyone could lose weight but people who use it lack will power 😅 she honestly made me so angry and upset because of how close minded she was. Like people don’t care about any medication you would take and the side effects but somehow theu care for you, because it changes your appearance and make you look better? Please talk about it I dont see enough people covering this topic Much appreciated ❤

@@melissam6037 I didn't share this with anyone in my life expect my family, and they were okay with it in fact my mom and sisters encouraged me to use it. My mom is in her mid 50s and she knows how difficult it is to have chronic illness, and she is on 5 different medications. I really regret telling the doctor about my Mounjaro experience. We were casually talking about feeling dizzy and dehydration. I told her that I'm taking the med and I feel dehydrated because of it, and that's where it all started. I was shocked because I didn't know that would come off from a medical practitioner. Who should at less not be so judgemental. It felt like she would want to ban these med if she had the power to do!

As a therapist who works with all kinds of people in all kinds of relationships where people are not safe from their partners, I can agree that being open is ideal, but not always a safe option. Sometimes people don’t want their partners to feel more powerful in their own skin. And when that happens, it can be dangerous in ways unrelated to medication side effects
