Through the examples of the great masters Sekito and Baso, Zen Master Kosen presents the two ways, yin or yang, of practicing Zen meditation, zazen. In concrete terms, relaxing the legs is Sekito's yin method, which each day humbly repeated the experience of eating and napping in his hut. Pushing the earth with the knees is Baso's Yang method, which put all its energy into the practice of zazen.
