What do you do in a zen monastery? What do you learn there? In this week's video, I share with you mindfulness practices that I have learned at Deer Park Monastery, a monastery that follow the tradition of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. @@PeacefulBreathing Hi Olivier, everything is good. I would like to have more time to practice but I have established my daily routine and followed it. The dharma by Thich Nhat Hanh is very inspiring - thank you for sharing!

Sorry, I was occupied with some task so could not drop a comment. I have seen your video when you uploaded. Thanks for sharing. We don't have a monastery nearby where we can practice over the weekend or listen to dharma talks. But thanks to youtube and you I am able to experience all these. And Mindful walking I cannot practice much but I practice mindful bike ride often. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Aviral, well meditation is a bit like walking. If you walk for 5/10 minutes, you may feel more energized and relaxed after your walk. If you walk everyday consistently for 2 months, you will feel more energized throughout your day. If you walk consistently for 6 months, you’ll have built endurance, lost weight and other benefits… meditation is the same … benefits can be instant but not necessarily long lasting. Overtime, you will see benefits of meditation in unexpected ways.

Depends how strong is your depression. Meditation is one way, but there are many ways to deal with depression. With meditation, you need to understand what brought depression into your life and remove those elements so that you deprive your depression from its nutrients and instead cultivate more inner peace and compassion within you.
