Thank you for the journaling exercise together. It is not easy for me to find the time and concentration but doing it together and with guidance on what to reflect on it came natural. I would like to have more journaling sessions - thank you

Great! Journaling is very helpful and to me too, it’s not easy, but with the intention of sharing it, it motivates me to journal. Let’s make it a habit together. I’ll be posting probably 1 journaling video a month.

I thought the journaling was a good exercise. I can see what challenges i have had with myself. Such as being stubborn with things or suffering because things have not felt perfect. And for a prosperous life i think the law of " your energy flows where your attention goes" is a good thing. And detachment, these things go together in getting liberation. Freedom is what its all about. 🕊

Hello, is it a problem if I can't breathe without affecting the breath while observing the breath in meditation? Does it affect the quality of meditation? Often, complete relaxation of the body does not occur when the breath is unnatural. But, for example, during walking meditation, the body is not deeply relaxed either... Thanks for your work
@PeacefulBreathing

Hello James, thanks for your question. relaxation is a byproduct of meditation and not necessarily the goal of it as it is often presented. It’s a pleasant experience nonetheless. If your breath is not natural as you observe it, it doesn’t change the quality of your meditation. What is important in meditation is to recognize what is there. For you, it could be for example this unpleasant experience of not breathing naturally. This is “suffering “ in your experience. So can you accept it and not resist to it. Can you accept it as part of the meditation practice? Know you’re not the only one. I too and many others have had this experience. Suffering is universal, so can we be kind to ourselves in those moments? In short, it’s not a problem. The practice is to recognize what you are experiencing and if it is unpleasant, can you surrender to it, fully accept it as part of your experience. Know it’s not going to be like that all the time too, it is impermanent so no need to cling to it either. Hope this helps! Tomorrow I’ll upload a new video but a little different. Hope it’ll help too

@@PeacefulBreathing Thank you for the excellent answer, I was afraid that the question would not be clear, but you understood exactly what I meant. I often try to achieve some kind of relaxed state during meditation to have "confirmation" that I am doing it well. But it's probably better to look at it as a long-term process, a slow improvement bit by bit.

Yes acceptance. I feel like that could be a step out of suffering for exemple when we are stressed about something diffrent thoughts can arise like "will i make this?" or " do i have to do this now" or "am I good enough" i feel like if we see what we're going trough for what it is and dont let things like stress or boredom get in the way we can enter some state of neutrality and just do our best. I feel like stress and other negative feelings is not our natural state and if we realise that the emotion that we're feeling just is something artificial and that ultimatly we are in controll that creates a sort of snowball effect of good habits. Even the Bible admits that we are in controll: "belive and it will happen". But I think it is even "know and it will happen". The power and peace is within us as you said. What do you think, are feelings artificial, because I feel that if you think that way you can get trough them and not be controlled by emotions and thoughts. And do you think that we are what we think or that we are what we do? 🙏
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 15 күн бұрын
Yes, acceptance. Others call it surrendering. Accepting our reaction with fighting it, accepting life comes with dissatisfaction. Do you find this truth easy to accept? I know I don’t and working on it. The more we reject it and deny it, the more we will struggle. That I can see. And yes, if we don’t feed those negative states, we can come to a state of neutrality like you said, experience equanimity. Am not sure what you mean by artificial, but as we’re saying, if we can accept and let go of our emotions and feelings, we can be more at peace. It doesn’t mean not to feel anything but rather, be able to be aware of them and not perpetuate them. As for what we are, our feelings, our actions, … it’s a longer answer I’ll share in a video. It my teacher said that : “our true continuation is our communication “.
@LL-qe3nt
@LL-qe3nt 15 күн бұрын
Yeah i think life and its diffrent emotional states is hard to accept and surrender to. As for dissatisfaction i think i can accept that life is that way. But its hard to master this off course because things can feel intense. But i'll continue to try. And you're right we should not reject reality and what we feel that could add to the suffering. So about feelings being artificial that meant that they're not real at all but that was just a thought and could lead to just not accepting the diffrent emotinal states we enter, the ups and downs. Thanks Oliver! Peace be with you.

Hi everyone, in today's video, I share about the over whole framework in which meditation and mindfulness exists so we can better understand what they are for and use them more efficiently. This is something I wish I had learned and understood from the beginning. Previously on my channel, I uploaded diverse videos of tips and techniques on meditation without necessarily having a logical order. From now on, the videos will follow each other and build on top of each other. There is much to come. Will meditation decrease my energy and enthusiasm for doing work for any goal?
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 29 күн бұрын
It can but also anything can. A friend who doesn’t meditate doesn’t have any motivation for his work. At the same time, world class athletes use meditation to perform at their peak like Novak djokovic, Mohamed Salah , the gold state warriors basketball team and so on and on … meditation is not about detaching ourselves from everything, it’s about detaching ourselves from our cravings so we can have more freedom. But yet we have to move into the world to do what we have to do. Like athletes, they have to let go of their cravings and attachment to winning if they want to be on the moment to perform at their best. If they hold on to the idea of winning, they will become tensed. Also meditation is not about dropping your effort, we can still have goals but we also can be happy now while pursuing our goal and not be unhappy until we reach our goal. I have just uploaded a video where I start from the very beginning of the path and I think you’ll be interested in it. This is the beginning of a series of videos for pretty much the next year of content, and I’ll talk about how to move into the world with wisdom.

What should I do if I can't observe my breath without influencing it?
@PeacefulBreathing

You just keep observing your experience with as much clarity as you can. At first, it will feel weird, like as you observe it, your breath may become irregular, as it it is self conscious, but it’ll go away eventually, within the same session or after some sessions. By the way, I started uploading again and just shared a video that I wish I had watched myself before starting meditation.

Very insightfull! The four noble truths are a simple and important teaching and its worth remembering but the eightfold path i have forgotten about though it could be worth remembering too. Another thing i have been thinking about recently is to try to be aware even of your behaviour and reactions to things in your day to day life, it could be things such as negative thoughts and maybee habits that arent necesarilly beneficial. That way you can be more in controll of your mind and do more of the things that make you happy.

Hello! I just found your channel when I searched "is meditation just breathing? ". What happened to you? I hope you are ok. It irritates me when I search for guided meditations for specific things, like manifestation or feeling safe, and the whole entire video is just people telling me to breathe, and they never really get to whatever topic for which I was searching. In fact it just makes me anxious and angry being told to breathe. I am already a relaxed person with a very low stress life. If anything I NEED stimulation, as I have been a "prisoner" in my small town for about 15 years that that I desperately want to leave, but finances have kept me trapped - hence trying to manifest money. I have no friends or family to do anything with here, and there is nothing to do here anyway, and I have wasted my life. I want to move to be near people with whom I have things in common and with beautiful scenery. This is a flat boring ugly midwest town with boring people that just go to work and watch TV. I want to be in beautiful Colorado or near Austin, TX by my friend, but the cost of living is outrageous. Anyway, I hope you do more videos. Could you do one on what music is best and bineural beats? You should watch all of the (recentĺ videos that explain how to get more subscribers and views and other pointers to make your channel grow. Have a nice day!

Meditation to manage pain hiw does it work
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 3 ай бұрын
There are many meditation practices that can be helpful when dealing with pain. Mindful breathing will take your attention away from it. Learning to relax in the morning midst of the pain can be a great ally. Third, learning to separate the physical pain and the narrative that comes with it. The rumination on the pain can further the suffering. Fourth is the practice of self compassion, learning to be with the pain and with yourself with a loving and caring attitude. And finally, practicing gratitude can be a great shift in how we experience our difficulties. I hope this helps.

I sometimes feel strained while meditating and maybee the concentration and focus on the awerness of something is causing that (like the breath or sounds) altough it can be a good tool to settle in a peace. The goal of meditation is to just be and abide in your beingness then maybee the breath could become a distraction because it requires concentration and focus to maintain that awerness of the breath. What if you could just instantly tap in to that beingness and pure awerness without having to get strained by the concentration on something and then you can get the fruit of meditation, the peace and joy? Thoughts on this?
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 4 ай бұрын
You have great awareness of your experience. You notice the straining in your practice because you set your attention with focus and concentration. Now are 2 things that come to mind reading your comment: one is learning to find the balance between alertness and relaxation. Finding a way to be concentrated and yet relaxed. A lot of it can be practiced through mindful awareness of the body. As you said very well, the heart of the practice is to tap into our relaxed awareness again and again throughout our day. It is challenging and the only way to get better is to keep practicing. That’s where mindfulness in daily life comes into play. Through our daily activities, can we go back to ourselves and relaxed again, dive into that pure awareness. I am not there yet myself, it’s a lifetime practice and so challenging with everything that goes on in our daily life. Hope this helps, good luck!

There are many different paths that lead to the same realization. Mindfulness or the cultivation of mindful awareness is one way. There are other practices as you mentioned that involve deep breathing techniques. I have too little experience with those to offer proper guidance. I think however that what I share is a little easier to start with on your own. Deep breathing may lead to strong experiences faster. Mindfulness is more gentle. It’s about slowing down, getting to know your mind. Getting to know your true self. It’s about being mindful throughout your day, recognizing your patterns, changing them, cultivating seeds of compassion in you. Hope this helps, feel free to reach out again if you need to.
