Practicing the Bow Drill Fire Making | Outdoor Skill Training

I want to improve my outdoor skills. This time I try to make a fire by friction using the bow drill method. I've tried this method before, but I struggled a lot. This time I struggle as well but not as much as last time. So there's some progress. I am happy with that. I should probably try it in summer when it's warm and dry... not freezing and a bit wet.
I want to learn some more outdoor skills. What skill should I practice next?

Well done! Especially because the weather conditions you were in. I managed only once. Tried for weeks. And that was when the fire danger rating was set to high those days. So, I am in awe of your achievements. It gives that spacial, happy feeling when succeeding. Nice tip about the resin. Didn't know that one. We used a piece of antler we found in the woods for the hand piece. It is highly durable. To reduce friction we used earwax 😁
