We're back in the world of FTL! In today's campaign, we're going to take the Mantis-A cruiser - known as the "Gila Monster" - for a spin, making good use of our crew teleporter to capture and scrap as many ships as we can! And if we can complete two of the Mantis-A achievements along the way, we could unlock the Mantis-B, which is considered one of the best ships in the game!

Bow you head friends and pay respects to Telsior. He was a brave warrior who once killed a man six times before destroying his ship. He died of acute radiation sickness after trying to loot an abandoned and unshielded station. Though he was replaced almost immediately, he shall never be replaced in our hearts.

Clone bays became my fav system after I found out that it also regens crewmembers that are lost during event choices

Friendly tip if you dont have sensors and you hear a fire or have intruders look at your systems power bar it will still show the fire symbol or the fist when being attacked

1:20 Battle Royale could be forced, if your kill your crew in no-oxygen compartments on the enemy ship. Or your ship for that mater. Works best with early ships, wich often have unreachable compartments. I would definitely do a restart after that, however. Luckily you only need 2 of the 3. 6:20 So, Scissor beats rock after all? 7:20 A upgraded Medbay still needs power. And there is some walking time, if you need to do that in combat. Meanwhile reconstructive teleport allows you to take them out and send them back out the second your Teleporter cycles again. Also, if you are using reconstructive teleport you could go for the clone bay. What little damage your crew takes, can be healed by the teleporter. The Pheromones only seem to help inside your own ship. So I agree, not that helpfull, especially if you go for reconstructive teleport. 15:00 Oh, a "all you can kill" buffet? 17:40 But Mantis have very small legs. Don't you mean "you got a lot of shoes to fill"?

Welcome back, Pravus! Great to see you back on FTL again. Have you ever tried the Captain’s Edition or SPMK Insurrection mod that add tons of new content and add new challenges to the base game? Those’d be really fun to see :)

Love this game, really pleased to see you playing it. Mind Control systems rock! If it helps, I think a level 2 Medbay lets you recover from the derelict station sickness as well as get blue results from some other events too.

FTL is always fun and I always enjoy watching these. On normal difficulty, there's almost no reason to farm XP though. Save yourself the time and effort. You'll easily hit the skill cap by sector 3-4. Also, you'll want to learn how to swap crew members' positions in a room. It's critical for tougher boarding operations.

17:00 this is why you always upgrade your med bay ASAP. There are multiple events in the early game that can be overcome with a lvl 2 med bay.

If you're willing to sacrifice some ship damage and run the risk, I would send a bomb to the pilot first and then TP in. The pilot will take damage ensuring that you win the fight.

- Shields first is the better play by a wide margin. You can destroy auto scouts without TP 2, bomb shields out then switch to basic laser. Safe in case you get TP shot out and such. XP isn't a big deal this early. - Pause and swap crew around to manage health bars and win safely. - Memorizing event risk is one of my least favorite things about this game :(. - This is a fine position overall, mind control + small bombs are a nice combo. Hacking would make this nearly a won run already :p.

at the start you should have switched the mantis on the shield with the engi at piloting since the engi will be moving around and then disable dodge.

Power generation could also aid in shield regen and transporters, i think... Since i have a stripped down version of FTL for android called Star Jumper, i obviously can't do detailed boarding party combat but otherwise the game plays pretty similarly to FTL.

Why not destroy the attacked ships? Don't you get something for the wreckage, or are the things you take from the ships fixed?

It is somewhat difficult to destroy a ship after you killed all crew, because you cannot target it anymore with your weapons, however fires still exist and can theoretically destroy a subsystem and with it the last hull point, giving you additional loot. I don't think it is worth the hassle though.
