Great footage. Upset that the fire truck didn't show up blasting the Q's. Thinking the Zero-Turn started the fire. It's burnt to a crisp. It actually looks like the frame of the trailer is salvageable, just needing some replaced plywood sides, And a good check of the axle bearings. Some folks are picking on the fire guy & other dude squirting the fire with garden hoses. They were doing a pretty good job with what they had available at the time. Keeping things cool so the fire didn't spread. They needed a little foam as it looked like a gas fire from the Zero-Turn.

It's a real shame that this persons lively hood has gone up in flames, but i have to admit the first thought in my mind when i saw the title was i hope it did not belong to one of the channels i watch, but none of those have wooden sided trailers so it does not. Anyway i hope they were insured and they sort it out fast for him this will be the busiest time of year for them.

When the video first started I was "Please let there not be a truck attached" - so at least they're just looking at a trailer & zero-turn mower. Not cheap by any means, but at least they're not losing a 60k truck.

One 2.5 gallon water can with Cold Fire additive and fire is out. Not one police vehicle in Toms River has it.

They are volunteers, responding from home to the fire station to get the engine to get to the scene. Once they arrived the fire was quickly extinguished. This was also a week day call which limited manpower

No SCBA because the fire was outside. Combine that with the fire being small, and there's not much need for SCBA's. That's how I would see it.

@@brickmontbuilds You don't just wear scba for interior working. The idea of wearing it for vehicle fires is 1. Because of all the pressure systems in modern vehicles and when these are involved in fire the have a habit of exploding with considerable force. In this case the trailer tyres. 2. If the fuel tank fails and ignites it can cause an instant large fireball. By wearing your facemask it protects your face from flying object's or flash burns to your face and airway. Simple stuff really. Please tell me you are not a firefighter?

@@andyoxleyonhistravels Well, Andy, I'm not a firefighter. What I can say is that the points you bring up are good for a car fire, not a burnt down lawnmower in a trailer filled with leafs and branches. Also, when the first engine arrived on scene, the trailer was out and the lawnmower was the only one still on fire. Because of this, whoever was in charge most likely gave the all clear not to use SCBA's. Either that or the firefighter's call. It wasn't big, not a dangerous fire.

@@brickmontbuilds like you said your not a firefighter. So I doubt you know what's is dangerous in a fire or not. If you spend a career breathing in toxic shit that you don't need to then you often pay the price later in retirement. I've just retired after 25 years. For the last 20 years it was mandatory for us to wear scba at all vehicle fires. The reason? Because in recent years studies have proved the increase in risk to firefighters of cancerous illnesses caused by continuing to breath in all the toxic shit when actually by using the scba that the department provides you with reduces the risks. Perhaps that is why we have lower levels of injury and illness over here than in the US. The lawnmower has a fuel tank and tyres, both of which have the same effect in a fire as a car so wearing scba is just as important in this case. It's not rocket science.

@@andyoxleyonhistravels I see your points and I understand. But everything was basically burnt to the ground by the time they showed up. Also, they’re volunteers, so they may have different requirements for how to deal with these fires. What I can tell you is by the time the first engine arrived, the fire was basically out. I have read about the studies of cancer being linked to firefighters in multiple Fire magazines. With all due respect, they operate different then your fire department. Every department has different regulations and I’m assuming, as I already said, the person in charge at the time made the call. In this case, SCBA’s were not needed. A bigger fire, yes. But not this one. BTW, thanks for your 25 years of service. I deeply respect you for your service and making your community a better place.

What’s the random dude in turnout gear doing? And two words the fires service here in America needs to lear are ‘booster’ and ‘reel’, quicker and easier for incidents like this than flaking out 100ft of attack line.

The "Engine line" was on the engine that wasn't on scene yet. The green line was not completely useless as the firefighter that was on scene with his POV was able to cool the exposure home and prevent any extension
