My mother still use a 30 years old tava bought from Punjab (Pakistan) and do his job very well. This roti maker is great for overseas pakistani, indian or bengali single men that do not know how to make roti. So stop hating this product.

I have been using this machine for 2 yrs. Here is what you need to take care of:- 1. Knead the dough with extra water atleast 1hr before making rotis. The dough has to be soft and slighty sticky. 2. If you are having high fiber atta then make a mixture of atta and maida in 3:1 ratio by volume. 3. Create balls and roll them in dry atta. Otherwise it would slip out of the pan while pressing it flat. Dear prestige! You have used same power rating for the top and the bottom hot plates. The top plate is open most of the time and wastes the heat. You could increase efficiency by redusing the wattage of the top hot plate.

Everyday I make roti with this roti maker.First time I can't make...but now I can.

Steps for making roti: 1. Measure dry aata and make soft non sticky dough (10) 2. Roll out a round roti (5) 3. Heat a tawa (1) 4. Put roti on the tawa (3) 5. Judge how long to roast the roti on first side (7) 6. Judge how long to roast the roti on second side (7) 7. Puff the roti on high heat (2) In case you are wondering what the numbers at the end of each step are, it is the difficulty rating of that step out of 10. The automatic roti maker automates the Step number 3 and 7 for you. Amazing product !!!

I am an IT professional man. wife went to her parent home in summer vacation is big challenge. outside food everyday had also created health problems. though many reviews were not good about these kind of roti makers, I still tried to play gamble. today after 2 months of use, I can tell you it is worth to buy it. it is making good fluffy roti same as shown in video. the only difference is I did not follow exact instructions because I was not able to make roti in that way. here is what I do for 1 person 1. make dough normally. little softer - 5 mins 2. make smaller balls bigger then what you take for puri but lesser then north indian big roti - 3 mins 3. flat the balls little bit. use dry flour both side in less quantity. - 2 min 4. parallel heat machine on full heat mode 5. follow next instructions as shown in video for pressing and baking
