One of the biggest developments in the comics since this show ended was Cyclops becoming The Guy. There came a point where he just snapped and told Prof. X they are going to take some pages from Magneto’s book and Wolverine was like “yeah, this guy’s in charge” He deserves that “To me, my X-Men”

The Jubilee episode was a callback to an actual issue of X-Men. But in the comics it was Kitty Pryde reading Colossus' little sister a bedtime story where she imagined the X-Men as the heroes.

Talking about The Hellfire Club, if you zoom in on the Daily Bugle newspaper one of the banner headlines (the other being "is Spider-Man a mutant?") is about "The Hellfire Ball."

A mall babe does in fact eat chili-fries. I was so ammused when I checked the voice actor list and found the character that sounded the least like the original cast was the original voice actor. You would think if anything his voice would get rougher over time, but I guess that healing factor has progressively smoothed it out since he stopped smoking five packs of stogies a day.

Cable was the child of Cyclops and a clone of Jean so depending on where they go with the series either that child could be there daughter or this Jean is a clone since her presumed death as the Phoenix and her then return and Cyclops married the clone Jean ( Madelyne Pryor).

They teased The Hellfire Club on that newspaper that fell past the screen, right at the top, which also says photos by Peter Parker, and written by Eddie Brock. Plus another headline just saying "Is Spider-Man a Mutant?" A nice easter egg for the crossover episodes back in the 90's.

Here’s an interesting fact. The original animated series was TV-Y7 supposedly according to the current page on Disney+ this one is going to be TV-14 so that’ll be interesting to see how much more mature stuff they’ll have in it

No, Morph looks like the Morph from the Exiles comics and if Jean is pregnant it's not with Cable because his mother was Madeline Pryor. Jean and Scott child was Rachel Summers, who became the second Phoenix.

I remember trying to watch the show in the UK was a bloody nightmare. They were constantly screwing around with airing it. And I'm not sure if I ever even saw the last season. Sounds like I didn't miss much.

It's interesting which baby they will decide it's going to be: Rachel, Cable, or X-Man. ALL three were alternate reality children of Scott and Jean (or Scott and Maddy in Cable's case), so it could be ANY of them. Or they could decide its gonna be Hope. Or even a brand new character. The Jubilee DnD thing, they basically made her Kitty Pryde in this series, and in X-Men storyline, Kitty does a DnD thing, where it's kinda like The Princess Bride thing, she's like sick, and the other X-Men are telling her a fantasy epic story.

Read the newspaper that blew by... Maggot was on it, attending the "Mutant Fashion Show", the Hellfire Gala... Hellfire Gala means they're probably adapting the Krakoa era. That's what the X-Men 97 comics adaptation did. And that's great because EVERYBODY needs to know about the House of X/Powers of X Krakoa era.

I can't help but think of Molly Carpenter everytime I see Jubilee. This can't come soon enough. I'm very hyped.

I always loved the theme tune more than I did the show - when you're a bigger DC fan than Marvel and you have Batman: The Animated Series, going from that to literally any other superhero show was rough. Nevertheless, I love the X-Men, and this looks fun on the bun!

The original series actually started in 1992. The reason this version is called '97 is because that was the year the series ended, and this picks up right after that. 😂

Wolverine is the same VA, Cal Dodd. There are several returning VAs, but most of the team are new voices. But damn, some of them sound very close to the OG. Cyclops new VA sounds SO close to Norm Spencer.

From what I understand there are at least three voice actors returning from the original, wolverine rogue and storm
