Primal Armor Appalachian Bar Review

I snagged the Primal Armor Appalachian Bar during their pre-sale as I had been itching to get a bow bar. Not because I needed one, but because I wanted it. One of those, I knew I didn’t have it and it annoyed me… Pokemon gotta catch em all scenarios.
I’ve been mixing it into my training for the past 6+ months and now I’m sharing my thoughts.
This bar comes from Primal Armor, which is owned and operated by Jeff Kimpel.
Jeff takes all of his proceeds from Primal Armor and donates them to Huntington’s Disease research, a disease his family is directly impacted by.
So the cool thing here is that your purchase not only buys an American Made barbell from a fellow home gym owner, but it helps a good cause.

Great review. Spot on and the exact same reasons I went with this bar also. Jeff is a great guy. He answered 100 questions I had about this bar, and bow bars in general. This has greatly reduced stress on my shoulders. I am a fan.

Great review, as always. My vote goes to CB-4. The thicker shaft is just awesome for bench.

Not going to lie, that bar was tempting for that reason. I think Brandon's overall "meh" feeling of the bar kind of left me looking elsewhere. But I could totally see it being a solid choice.

Thanks for sharing the review. Your reviews are awesome and highlight some niche products and companies that affiliate-driven reviewers won't touch. I appreciate that. Respectfully, on this review in particular, I would've liked to learn more about how you're using the bar in your training. I don't have a cambered bar yet, and while I have read and watched many rave about one, I don't yet have a clear enough idea of how I'd want to incorporate it into my workouts. In particular, I don't have shoulder discomfort from squatting normally (though my knees are another story). Understanding how your training has particularly benefitted (beyond alleviating your gotta catch 'em all mindset) was what I would have most wanted to understand. Thanks again, Joe.

Thank you for the kind words. Yep, my goal is to cover what I own and use, not necessarilly just what I'll make money on. Good notes on the cambered bar use. I'll be roughing up the written article for this soon, I'll make sure to include some of those notes in there. Appreciate that constructive feedback.

@@GrayMatterLifting Thanks for doing that! Also it's cool to see that you are on Juggernaut AI. I'm planning to switch onto it from 531 after I get a cable system in my garage.

@@amukherjee424 I'm liking it a lot so far. Had some learning curves the first 4 weeks, but nothing I wasn't expecting to have to learn and tweak. I've got a discount code for ya if you don't have one, should save ya 10% on your monthly bill. I wasn't sure initially if I'd be running it long term, but I have little to complain about currently. And I don't have to think about my workouts.

I originally had titans cheap buffalo and that thing sucked😅. Currently don't have one, might end up picking one up eventually.

solid review! I have the Fringe version...great bar...and my only nitpick is I wish it had bushings but not a big deal. Unfortunately I have the CB-4 too and usually grabbing that one first for it's girth.

The CB-4 was definitely my Plan B. I almost snagged one used... that extra girth gives me the tingles where it counts

Any issues with tilting when loading? Like coming off the jcup on one side?
@GrayMatterLifting
@GrayMatterLifting 3 ай бұрын
Ive got a 2x3 rack. It does this when first loading, but after a 45 is on there, all good moving forward. I did have issues with my roller j cups, so something to consider if you use those.
